When you say, "with these sounds, it doesn't work at all", I assume you mean you are opening the default Kratos SFX file with brawlbox? If so, I'm not sure why you need to know the timing of the old Kratos SFX file..

But if you are talking about the new sounds you want to inject into the default, I would suggest you use audacity to get the current timing of the file. (Which should be in the .wav, .mp3, ect. format.) I'm pretty sure there are a handful of programs other than audacity as well which can give you the exact time of a music file.

Ok, so made some little inspections about Kratos's sounds, which were almost already organized, but I saw a problem which is rather annoying...

When you make sound hacking, you have to know the precise time of the sound you want to insert, and about these Kratos sounds, I have no way to do it immediately...  Originally I can use brawlbox in order to make a new brstm and choose a sound like this to know the time it has, but with these sounds, it doesn't work at all! And if it doesn't work at all, I wonder if it will work if I want to put them in Brawl, I will see this when I will begin the replacement... But it is not a really good news...


I'm kind of confused about what's causing you trouble.

When you say the "precise times", are you talking about current sample points for audio in's and out's?

If so, Audacity does this very well. Play the sound until the desired entry point and then pause the sound and look at the current sample count at the bottom of the audacity window. Do the same for the exit point and viola, audio entry and exit in sample format.

Hey, I'm not sure if this has been discussed yet, but is anything going to be done about Marth's SFX File? It feels weird to play as Kratos with Marth's whiny voice. If we want Kratos 100% Brawl-Ready, then it has to be done eventually...

I understand SFX replacements are difficult to do, because I have already tried it myself. So does anyone know how to do this most efficiently?

I have compiled every Kratos Battle Clip I could find into a folder which can be downloaded here-

The clips are from the gamecube Tales of Symphonia, so they are lacking audio clarity; but I don't think it will be too noticeable.

Hey Divine, how's it going? Not just PSA-wise, but life-wise to xD

Everything is going good so far. Just been busy with school lately but luckily final exams are just four weeks away =). Then, I'll be on spring break...


I'll work more on kratos this thursday, and will probably release my Freya PSA this weekend.

I didn't insulted his opinion, I proved that his opinion was completely wrong and shouldn't be added in the game, and I explained to what point. I don't see any problem here.

Opinions are subjective; they aren't exactly right or wrong because everyone has a different view of what's right or wrong. In this case, there is no right or wrong, only opinions; and it's inevitable that people's views will conflict on this matter. (You thinking that 15-25% is good for overlimit mode, and I that a much greater number is.)

Smiley I don't wan't to get involved in this whole debate thing that's forming in the Kratos PSA thread because I don't care much about it. (And I know there can't be conclusion to it if neither side is willing to admit they are wrong.)

But I did want to thank you for expressing your opinions on this issue because I agree with you now and think that 15-25% is good enough for overlimit. He's already a beastly character and any more awesomeness would just make it unfair to the rest of the brawl characters. So thanks! Smiley

As to the spell stance, that's what I was referring to, and I agree with you.
I'm so glad that the damage resistance and healing upgrades will be implemented! Cheesy

As far as the judgment Kratos thing goes, it wouldn't be imperative that his wings are irrectractable, but when you fight Kratos as an angel in his judgment form, his wings are there. So it would just make sense that his wings stay on when in judgment mode. I think.

Thanks for questioning the knockback resistance idea- Sometimes when I'm writing things, it make complete sense to me and I expect others to know exactly what I'm talking about.
Basically, this knockback resistance would be heavy armor that keeps you from flinching AT ALL when getting hit by opponents. So, I should have said that it's the same thing we discussed earlier about the 15% damage resistance, but with WAY more resistance. This would let you cast spells without having to worry about being interrupted.

Heres what I would like most in the next update-

-Change his spell casting stance
-Give him more damage resistence when casting a spell. any attack greater than 15 damages will cancel the spell cast.
-Increase healing abilities. (casting guardian doesn't heal fast enough and since you have to stand perfectly still to get healed, it's more efficient to spam the up taunt; which doesn't seem right in my opinion)

I have a suggestion apart from these though-
Wouldn't it be neat if when going into overdrive via the up taunt, you transformed into judgment kratos? Meaning your wings would be irretractable and FULL knockback resistance when casting spells.

Is there any way to make a PSA of Kratos with Concentrate? (flinchless spell casting unless an A-smash is used)? I find it extremely difficult to cast any spells when playing in matches because everything cancels spells.. What I'm imagining here is kind of like Bowser's heavy armor in Brawl Minus if you know what I mean. He doesn't need invincibility, but just heavy armor during spell casts.

Also, when casting the first spell in Light Mode, can you make the 1% healing effect work when casting spells/taunts too? (ANY button presses at all will stop the healing effects)
It would be optimal to have the healing spell work all the time except during walking.

By the way, I GREATLY appreciate everything you've done with this PSA. Truly Amazing!
