Pit's arrows.

Armada basically won PM Grand Finals because of those arrows.

That's still a little different than Mario's fireballs/pills or Pikachu's Thunder. It's one thing to use them to approach or space yourself, but CPUs mostly just spam them repeatedly unless you're right on top of them. It's also incredibly difficult to have that good of aim like Armada, not to mention, there was a purpose to it other than just plain attacking an opponent.

dont even make me start about suicide... xD

NEVER play on Port Town. I can't help it because I love F-Zero, but if you want a serious match, go somewhere else. I usually end up trying to save the AI every time since they literally just walk to the side and jump off on certain parts. Tongue

Since I always had problems adding codes to Brawl and make them work, it's such a relief to use your tools.
But now I'm pretty much confused, now that you said cBliss actually works for Project M 3.0x.
I added everything cBliss needs (Brawl Costume Manager proves it), but it doesn't work and I was told Project M uses something else to load characters and it's not compatible, so I almost gave up combining Project M with cBliss.
Is there something else I need to change additionally to make it work? In the official cBliss thread, there is an explanation but it seems like it's just for 2.5b.

It is tedious. I did the same thing where I struggled for days and briefly gave up on it, but once you get it working, the payoff is so worth it. I got mine working with the newest Project M Stage Expansion a couple of days ago. Took some serious work to get it, but now I have 78 stages along with 10 costumes for all 41 characters. (aside from Wario obviously with 12, and now Toon Link, Wolf, and Ganon with 11)

Ivysaur is a [censored]. Tongue Of course, he was just as bad in regular Brawl. Knock opponent off stage, A spam forever, KO, repeat.

Sounds like an issue with the common5.pac itself, maybe something went wrong when you imported the cBliss stuff into the expansion pack file. Freezing after selecting stage though sounds more like you forgot to add the /info/portrite/ files.

Do original slots work?

Just checked and yes they do. The original stages themselves also work. I originally thought the same thing about the icons and such being missing, but then I figured if the portraits weren't there that it would crash before I selected a stage rather than after and after I checked again, everything is there. Portraits, icons, stock icons, they're all there. The Result screen even works flawlessly, but the stage icons and actual expanded stages do not... Well, scratch that, they randomly started working all of a sudden. O_o The stage icons and portraits are still screwed up, but it appears the stages have decided to work now. It froze the first couple of times I tried to play on an expanded stage, but I just went to the same ones I tried last night and they work now.

EDIT: I think I've figured out what's wrong with the stage icons. Somehow (even though I thought I reimported them already) the icons got replaced in mu_menumain.pac with the Project M X icon for each one. The stage names and portraits are still showing up in-game for some reason, even though the menumain ones say STGCUSTOM01, 02, 03, etc. and the portraits are just a blank picture with a number. I'll have to check it again and make sure it works, but that's definitely an issue that needs fixing.

EDIT AGAIN: Nope. That just made it show all X's on the My Music screen. I tried exporting the expansion textures (I guess basically just MiscData[0] to just put that in my common5, but BrawlBox crashes whenever I try to export it.

Turns out all I had to do was export the sc_selmap.pac and put it in its folder and it suddenly worked. It still doesn't work with common5, but I guess if it's reading the selmap file, it works. Weird, but at least it's fixed.

So I tried taking the Project M Stage Expansion pack and added 10 costumes to every character with the cBliss tool. At first, I couldn't get to the CSS at all, but after some common5 compressing, it actually worked!... until I got to the SSS. All icons were replaced with the X icon and when I scrolled over the icons it showed the name of the stage inside all icons on the screen and the X icons turned white rather than the usual purple. Then I tried to select a stage and I got a silent freeze. It's more than I thought I'd be able to get working, especially in just one day, but still a really weird issue. I don't quite get how character costume expansion would affect SSS icon expansion, but IDK. I had the stage expansion working before and just simply added cBliss to it, but the SSS apparently doesn't like that for some reason. :/

That Falcon is incredible! Love GX! Most underrated game of all time.

I thought it was already on Twitch. I could have sworn it was listed as Project M during APEX. Of course, there was so much Smash at APEX, it was hard to keep up with them all. I missed most of Smash 64, but I caught most of Melee, PM Top 8, and various bits of Brawl. Fun stuff to watch. Kage Vs. MattDotZeb rematch. Hype.
24  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / General Hacking Discussion / Re: [Official] Project M discussion: 3.02 patch on: January 29, 2014, 03:55:02 PM
My favorite part is how they added Project M to the Smash series.

Now all that's left is to add the PMBR to the developer list.

They absolutely should do that. No one has pulled off some of the ridiculous hacks that those guys have. Hundreds of thousands of downloads as well, it may as well be counted as it's own game. I believe Ver 3.02 has been downloaded like 300,000 times already and it's been out for what, maybe two to three weeks maybe?
25  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: Fire Emblem model importing thread - Awakening Marth v2.0 on: January 29, 2014, 03:04:41 PM
^ Same. You guys all do such a fantastic job on all these models. They're so professionally made, it's astounding! I can't wait to use him in game.

Not to be repetitive, but THIS. Wish I could make hacks this good. (I can do recolors and BRSTMs, that's about it. Cheesy) Just amazing! I will certainly be using that as an alt for Project M Marth. (If I can get cBliss working on 3.02 first. Tongue)

I noticed it being so slow the other day for the first time. Apparently, the computer I usually use has no problem, it takes seconds to work. But with the other one I have, it took like forever. To avoid this, copy both gct and cbliss tool into your desktop or anywhere else that's not the sd card, and it should be much faster.

Duly noted. I will definitely have to try that.

Quote
The freezes in the results screen aren't caused by files missing inside the STGRESULT.pac file, but because of portraits missing in the /pf/menu/common/char_bust_tex/ files. Those are uncompressed copies of the folders inside the common5.pac files, if something's missing in one of them, the results screen will crash.

Pretty sure I have all the portraits in there, but I'll check them again. I did miss Samus' extra stock icons somehow and it took me a while to realize it, so it's entirely possible that I skipped one.

Post Merge: January 20, 2014, 04:28:12 PM
Okay. I checked all of the protraits and they're all there. I even added the ones that shouldn't be necessary (unexpanded characters) and it still silent freezes as soon as the screen goes black at the end of a game, so I am at a as far as what is wrong with my setup. I edited another new codeset to see if that might help (apparently not) and the cBliss tool definitely runs faster on my desktop than on the SD card like before.

You know I just realized something: Marth and Lucario are the only ones that freeze when you try to select them. Could this be because of something to do with Roy and Mewtwo? I expanded Roy to 10 slots and I played a match with him when testing the results screen, so he works, but Marth still doesn't. Haven't tried Mewtwo, but I left him alone, so I assumed nothing would be wrong with him, but Lucario freezes as well... Or is that just a coincidence?
27  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Programming / Re: cBliss v1.5 [16?] on: January 18, 2014, 11:44:25 PM
This sounds like what happened to me just the other day... and it's because I exceeded the size limit! Is your sc_selcharacter.pac file over 3.79MB? If it is, you'll need to drop the quality of *all* your CSPs to save some space.

When you've opened your common5 in BrawlBox, right-click a CSP, "re-encode", and change any CSP that is of format CI8 to CMPR. The quality of the portrait drops, but so does its size. If you have Project M's common5, many of the CSPs should already be the lower-quality CMPR... but there are a few characters that may need to be converted (I'm pretty sure Ike, Olimar and ROB were some).

Ah. I didn't even think of that. Will certainly look into it and give it a try. Thanks.

EDIT: Okay, so I'm unsure whether my common5 or sc_selcharacter were over their limits before, but they certainly aren't now. I'm going to try editing a fresh codeset one more time and if that doesn't work, I will probably have to let Mewtwo look at it since he's the expert on all of this.

EDIT 2: FINALLY got it to work. It froze when I scrolled through Lucario's costumes, but I'll have to check and make sure I've filled the correct slots since he's one of the characters that skips one with the whole default/team  costume thing, same for Diddy, but everyone else I checked so far (Link, Zelda, Sheik, Ganon, Falcon, Samus, and ZSS) seem to work fine and I don't see why the other's wouldn't work either. Diddy and Lucario were the only ones I was worried about, and sure enough, Lucario has been the only problem so far. Will check back again when I give it another try.

EDIT 3: Alright, so everyone works except for Marth (only his 9 and 10 slots for some reason) and all of Lucario's. Also the result screen crashes, which seems to be a common thing, although I never managed to get that far with 3.02 before, so I'll work on that. I'm wondering if Marth and Lucario maybe have something to do with teams, since Lucario always uses his default blue and Marth was changed in P:M to use his and now has that purple in place of his alt blue, but oddly enough, Diddy works fine.

EDIT 4: Well, somehow I managed to get it from loud crash to silent crash at the result screen. :/ Marth and Lucario still don't work either.

EDIT 5: This is getting a bit too frustrating. For the moment, I give up. It kind of works, but I don't have a working result screen, so there's not much of a point of playing just one game, then reloading it again. I ran the codeset through the cBliss tool again and Marth and Lucario both still crash when you try to select an alt slot. With my luck as soon as I get it to work, version 3.03 or something will probably come out. lol

Anyone have any idea what could cause the result screen to freeze other than the RESULT.pac stage file? Unless I'm not supposed to use the cBliss one with the Project M (and my expanded characters) stock icons, then I'm clueless as to what is wrong.
28  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Programming / Re: cBliss v1.5 [16?] on: January 18, 2014, 09:34:52 PM
Well, just send it over and I'll see what's wrong. Anyway, you should try re-downloading the original one and using cbliss tool on that one. Be sure you get the latest version of the tool.

Okay, so I tried using the newest version of the tool on a fresh copy of the regular Project M codeset and I have no control over who gets how many costumes. I can either check all or none of the characters and there are no numbers listed. It wasn't doing that before.
29  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Programming / Re: cBliss v1.5 [16?] on: January 18, 2014, 03:12:21 PM
Does just replacing the edited gct with the original in project m work?

In case original works and cblissed doesn't, send me your gct and I'll try it on my wii.

Just tried the original and it crashed on the CSS when I scrolled through a few characters, but probably because I forgot to change everything back to original P:M setup. It loaded up this time though, so it's definitely something with my codeset, which is supposed to just be the default P:M setup + cBliss 10 costumes on Link, Samus, ZSS, Falcon, Zelda, Sheik, Ganon, Diddy, Lucario, Marth, Ike, Roy, and Snake.
30  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Programming / Re: cBliss v1.5 [16?] on: January 18, 2014, 12:02:21 PM
WTF?! Tried changing about 10 or so different things and could not make it to the CSS once without crashing, so I started over from basic PM 3.02, reinserted ALL my files AGAIN, added the expansions with the cBliss tool for a few characters, and now it just resets back to the Wii Menu when I try to load P:M through the launcher. I added all necessary CSPs to common5 and char_bust_tex_lz77, added BPs in their respective locations, input stock icons for all expanded characters, and of course, I put all the necessary .pac and .pcs files in character folders. It's crashed right before the CSS every time and now it won't even launch PM. What am I doing wrong?

EDIT: Just in case anyone wants to know, these are the characers I've been trying to expand (I gave up on different numbers and just went for 10 or basic P:M numbers): Link, Samus/ZSS, Falcon, Zelda/Sheik, Marth, Ganon, Diddy, Lucario, Ike, Snake, and Roy. I tried to just leave everyone else with their default Project M costumes and it still hasn't worked. I've triple checked and the files should all be correct. As far as I can tell, the only thing that could possibly be wrong would be in the codes and all I've attempted to do is give the listed characters 10 costumes with the cBliss tool.
