Help with common5 freeze

i've been reading around, and this usually occurs when the common5.pac is bigger than the original. i thought "well okay then". turns out my edited common5 is SMALLER than the old one, yet whenever i go to the multiplayer screen, it freezes and gives me that beep noise. help please?

Try this export your selcharacter file and your selmap out of your common 5 and put it into
pf/menu2 (you can take the common5 out of the system folder)

if it is still freezing i would say the problem is the size of csp´s
do you have/use any?

You could also try to get an unedited Common5.pac and add the sel_character and w/e else you edited.

Somtimes it's size goes down and doesn't goes back up even if you get it back to its retail state, you should try what Demibrot says as well, but I think it'd be beter to find the cause, I'm pretty much sure it could be some CSPs you're using... Did you make any?

that's the thing, i had been using csps just fine (all downloaded, none made by me because i don't know limitations), and it just started freezing a couple days ago. i think it may be a problem with the sd card, i'm reformatting it as i type this just in case.

Try exporting the selcharacter and downloading an unedited common5.pac, and then import it, it COULD fix it.
