Alright. i've been changing textures for a while now. But i still cant do this( Have a Zero texture for link but the character select portrait remains the same.

Now here's the catch. i HAVE the tga files and portraits. just dont know how to make them show up

    There are two files that you can use to store your custom big portraits.  They're sc_selcharacter.pac and common5.pac.

    Basically, you just open up one of those files with BrawlBox, and then go to the archive containing the portrait files.  Choose the one that you want to replace, and you're all good.

    Of course, you must make sure that the file uses less memory than normal, or else you'll experience game crashes; sc_selcharacter.pac must not use more than 3.79 MB, while common5.pac must not use more than 11.6 MB.

    To use one of the mentioned files, place it in one of the directories below.

    sc_selcharacter.pac - [SD drive]\private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\menu2\

    common5.pac - [SD drive]\private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\system\

    To make the custom portraits appear on the results screen, you need to get a series of files called MenSelchrFaceB###.brres.  They're placed in the directory...

    [SD drive]\private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\menu\common\char_bust_tex\

    To add on to what mnsg said, if your sc_selcharacter.pac file isn't working put it in pfmenu2 instead of pf/menu2.
