Quite a few times when I try to vertex hack, even when the vertex points look completely fine when I'm done changing them in 3DS Max, when I preview them in Brawl Box the model is horribly disfigured. Why is this?

you have been through a lot of hassle. I've watched every topic you posted on this, and most of them seemed to disintegrate gradually.
But the coolest part was that you didn't stop working on it despite that.

    What's Vbox?
Well whatever it is I don't use it.

And it doesn't always happen but it happens a lot.

I think Tcll meant VBox as in Vertex Box, as in Das Donkey Vertex Box. Mariokarts script is a lot more reliable when exporting verticies than DDV Box in my opinion.

    <_<

What? I never had problems with it....

Do you have the latest one? If you do, then I guess you could try the original DDVBox. The one where you had to use Anim8or. That always worked for me.

MarioKart's method is much more effective though (aside from these polygon stretches...)

Does anybody else have this problem??

No it's only what I vertexed that screws up.

SERIOUSLY I am getting so god damn pissed.

I've worked for so long on projects just to have them mess up afterward. For no reason! The vertecies look fine but after I export them to the model they screw up!

    Example of before and after

    It could be 3 things

    1. check ur vertex set, make sure u r using the original sword vertex file and not an edited one.

    2. You could have created a patch off of an alredy edited sword.

    3. It could also be because the sword is not centered properly and u have to apply a patch fix (check out mario's video part 11)

I know it's not the first two and I'm using the no patch method so it can't be 3.
Unless somebody knows if that method is what's causing this...

MarioKart himself didn't know what the problem was...
