I know you can make his sword invisible, but it's not a +1 or +2 texture, so do I still use the magenta method? Or is there a different way? And what other parts of Link can be made transparent? I wanted to get rid of his belt thing.

To make the sword invisible, if it isn't +1 nor +2, you have to paint black the parts in the alpha layer you want to make invisible. I think this only works with Photoshop. With Gimp I think you just delete the parts you want to make transparent.

Most of Link can't be transparent, mostly due to the texture formats.  The RGB565 (tex#00_04) texture parts can't be transparent at all, and not all CMPR (tex#00_14) format textures support transparent colors.  The RGB5A3 (tex#00_05) texture parts do support transparency though, which is why it's possible to make Link's sword (FitLink00_Blade is an RGB5A3 format texture) transparent.

    old bump

So, how would one make the #00_05 textures transparent? The same old, colour it magenta method?

That's for the indexed textures only.  Normal texture transparency uses the Alpha Channel.  However, you'll have a better time seeing the Alpha Channel if the texture parts are saved as TarGA (.tga) images, and viewed in Photoshop CS3 or CS4.

Yeah, the .tga files are being edited in PS CS4, but I can't seem to find / figure out how to add Alpha Layers... -_-
