COMPLETE RE-POST:-and don't you dare redirect me to WackaAlpaca's videos, its not how, to do it so much as it is what will have to happen after I swap them.

I am taking Kusagari Link's sword (by erasing all other bones and things not related to the sword), and am going to replace Falco's blaster with it. After that, I need to determine how to permanently place it in Falco's right hand. I will be replacing both the Blaster in the FitChar00 file and in the FitMotionEtc file.

After all that is done, what else needs to happen. Note that I have no experience in PSA, and until I get a computer of my own (probably a laptop), I will not touch PSA. My parents have enough stuff on their computers as it is.

Can you please list me other things that will need to happen?

Don't bump your own thread after only 2 days please.

You have to hex every vertex set and some polygons off of link. Replace the model and texture and hope it doesn't make his filesize too big.

    Then PSA...

PSA is the only way for this to be done.

EDIT: I saw your vertex request....Just give Falco Ike's second sword and have someone vertex it.

Why should I do that when there is a perfectly good katana model in BrawlVault that can be vertexed to be made a little longer? It would be easier and less time consuming than taking Ragnell and vertexing it into a katana of similar width and length of blade.

here's what I did for a katana, but bear in mind I was swapping from one Ike to another. All you need is das donkey vertex box
Step 1) Export the vertices you want to use as a replacement, and the mdl0 of the model you want to put the vertices on, remember to save them as vertex.ddf and model.mdl0
Step 2) Find the mdl0 offset of the vertices you want to replace
Step 3)Run DasDonkey Vertex Box and tell it to create a ddv file. When swapping between the same file it will say (successfully created)
Step 4) Tell Vertex Box to insert ddv on mdl0, and enter the offset I told you to get earlier.
Step 5) Be proud, you just vertex swapped.

Really, and to think I wasted all that time editing cloud's sword to make it fit right, but oh well. (And it should also be noted that I came across your video tutorial just after posting my previous post.)

I see a problem that would have to be fixed if I used your method Manic. If I took the vertices of Kusagari Link's katana and replaced the vertices on Falco's blaster with it. It would still have all the same bone positions as the blaster. Meaning I would then have to find some way to make the bones mimic the positions of the original bone set.

Then after that there is the problems with getting all the files related to said sword onto the replaced vertices. I have tried exporting the things in the Textures1 folder related to the sword and I get an error, meaning I can't get those over to replace the Blaster's Texture1 files.

Do you know how I could fix those if I followed your method?

Though thanks for the tutorial on vertex swapping tutorial, could be useful in future endeavors.

On another note, there is another thing I want to do in the future and that is body part swapping.

Like say make a functioning Falco head on Snake or Captain Falcon (This is for a totally different hack idea).

Body swapping isn't really possible for anyone not named RandomTBush.

And you could always try exporting Ichigo's article sword and textures, replace Falco's gun and textures and done.....

    Just needs PSA after that.

Someone could learn it if they put their time into it.

Also, why Tensa Zangetsu instead of anything else?

It's a katana that needs now hexing and will easily be positioned without you having to do anything besides model replacing and otherwise rotating the model. What you're asking could easily take 30 seconds to at least give him a sword. Just make a request for Ike with a katana. Someone would make it.

That is if you want to do things the easy way and not have to worry about filesize breaking and placement issues.

What kind of hexing does it need? All I have on me is the Bone Index Editor in terms of hexing. Is that really all I need?

I am still new to this, and I have yet to actually use the said editor as of yet. I read the instructions, so I guess I understand it a little bit.

On another note: so basically you're saying to use it as a place holder and not a permanent swap?

What you're trying to do requires you to hex out the entire model so that only a sword is visible. I'm telling you to just use a single sword model and request someone make a vertex hack of it.

That simple. You seem to be making a very simple thing overly complicated.

... Thats cause I have never really done something like a PSA project before...and cause I have a tendency to do that alot...Its one of my worst faults.
