Stage name corrupting?

I'm trying to replace a stage name for the selection screen, but the file I'm using reduces to a garbled mess upon replacement. It looks fine when previewed though.

Anyone know what's up?

EDIT: Found the solution. The pngs had to be saved at 32 bit depth.
