Well my wii broke Sad  i start it and if i have my SD card in there it will go to the boot mi screen or whatever the screen is called when you can choose to go to you wii, Homebrew channel, sd card, and settings. and if i pick homebrew channel or wii it just gives me a black screen. If I just start the wii without an SD card it still is just pitch black Sad

So my question to you is, what will nintendo do if they find homebrew channel on a wii that i sent in to get fixed?

they will remove anything illegal from your wii, or just replace it so you will lose all your save data.

I've also heard of fines up to $500, depending on how hacked your Wii is. Usually Brawl Minus is simply deleted, and your Wii wiped, but if you were hacking the Shop Channel, or basically pirating their paid software, then yeah, you can get fined.

Don't you have a NAND backup to fix your Wii? If you don't, you're screwed.

so long as you don't have whatever it is you have to load backups, you shouldn't get in trouble.  you can't uninstall everythinge before sending it in though? just to be safe

and yeah, they'll remove all illegal stuff, and probably update to 4.3

If possible, delete the Homebrew Channel and remove the SD card. Then if you haven't yet fixed the problem, and your Wii is still under warranty, you can probably have it fixed for free. That's what I did ^_^

You were really lucky then. Just removing the homebrew channel and sd card doesn't make it unmodded. You still have modified ios' and maybe savefiles from other regions

@ Quanno: Yeah, I know, but I'm pretty sure I went in and deleted most of those files. So long as you don't have pirating software, Nintendo doesn't seem to care as much as they used to when it comes to mods. They know they didn't put enough in Brawl to keep people satisfied forever, and seeing as it doesn't seem they'll be making another Smash Bros ever again, I bet some Nintendo employees probably play modded Brawl games as well...

As for whether or not they'll fix the Wii, it's all a matter of being lucky enough to not get a grumpy employee when the scan it for problems.

If you used Bootmii to make a NAND backup, you can find it on the root of your SD card. It should be called 'nand.bin'

Just tell them Super Smash Bros won't read, and ay you got the Wii when it first came out. They'll think it was an old problem (they had this problem alot) regarding Brawl. Maybe then they'll fix it?

If not, then I'm sorry for your lose.

    RIP Wii T_T
