Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe I once read that it's safe to remove and reload your SD card while Brawl is running, if you're using Gecko OS. I don't want to try it 'til I'm sure, cuz I can't afford to mess up mai h4x again.

I tried it once, hoping I could add hacks and then continue playing without going through the load process again. Almost nothing happened. Actually, it worked as if I had never taken it out. The new ones weren't there, but the old ones were, and it didn't freeze or anything. I don't know if it was a fluke or anything, but its still a result.

I don't know what happens when you try it while you're in a match, but if you remove it when you're at the menu it won't cause any problems, and it will add the new hacks too, I thought.

Yes you can remove it as long as your using gecko. Some things won't change though because they are loaded at startup of the game. Whenever you remove it though, try to do so when there isn't any custom music playing.

When you remove it in battle, if the music was from the SD, the sound'll screw up.
If you want to remove it and Brawl's playing a song stored in the SD, just do it and enter to a Menu/Go back to Title Screen (Anything that'd swap the music is fine), so it'll load the one Brawl have.
For Textures, if you played a Match let's say with FitIke01 and FitMarth01, and ended it, taking off the SD when they're "clapping" after the match is fine, and you can change whatever you want (Textures/Music, etc), but, the game had already pre-loaded those FitMarth01 and FitIke01, so if you play again without changing those two characters, it'll load their past Textures, for this, just go back to the Menu and go in, so it'll re-load the Roster.
It's pretty much a thing of loading, if the SD isn't present, it'll load from the Brawl ISO, with Textures, they're pre-loaded after played.
I've messed way too much with this... (This is all on Gecko OS)

So lemme get this straight.....if you take out the sd card in the results screen after a brawl with fitike00 and fitmarth00, then put back the sd with those two changed to....idk, naruto and sephiroth, it'll reload the new hacks?

If you take the SD out after a battle, the characters used (PSA and textures) will be the same if you don't change them for the next fight (By not changing them I mean to re-using them) it'll load the one that was used instead of the one from your SD. Example: 1> You used Cloud Ike on Controller 1 (His texture being in FitIke00.pcs, also using his PSA, and let's say you have KH Cloud texture on FitIke01.pcs) vs Sephiroth Marth (His texture being in FitMarth00.pcs, also using his PSA) on Controller 2 on a battle 2> Battle Ends, you take off your SD on Results or CSS 3> You delete their folders 4> Put the SD again 5> Let's say, you change Ike's texture on Controlelr 1 from 00 to 01 (red), and leave Marth the same way it was 6> Start battle 7> It'll load the original Red Ike with the Cloud moveset that was pre-loaded, and Sephiroth will be the exact way it was, with his costume and PSA, even though you deleted the folders of them. I assume it's a cache, the character was pre-loaded, since FitIke01.pcs wasn't used in the first battle, it isn't loaded for the next battle, but since the FitIke.pac (PSA) was loaded, and you only changed Texture, it is loaded this time. On Sephiroth's case, since you didn't change the texture, it'll load it, for Brawl to erase this Cache, just go back to the Main Menu (Press B on CSS) and go back in the CSS. Try it out. It's so simple yet it took this much to explain? I suck at simplifying what I want to say D:

You can put new stuff on your SD card without having to reset Brawl with these codes.
The code in the video was unfinished, but the code I provided is.

^ If that works, it is made of win. (Now someone just needs to get around to making a code that can patch .thp's and .brsar's as well as everything else..)

While using Gecko OS, you can remove the SD card while Brawl is running. However, you can't do that while using Riivolution, since that'll cause Brawl or any other Riivolution compatible games to crash.

I see no point why you'd want to remove your SD card during the game
