I don't see what's wrong with this, you could consider his payment a donation for helping him out in what he wants.
Also, we've been hacking Brawl (Which is illegal) and no one here have had problems from it, why would someone have it for this then?

It is not illegal for us to hack it, it is only illegal to redistribute hacks for profit.
After purchasing the Wii and the Game, we are free to do with it as we wish as long as we don't use it for our own financial gain.

Well, its not like someone is going to jail people because you sell a hack. Besides, it can be like a "thank", like when someone finds your wallet and you give them some of your money |

I guess this technically isn't illegal... Rather than offering assistance for money, he's saying he's offering money for assistance. No one offered to do it for money, he's just saying he's willing to reward them. He's not selling hacks, he's "buying" them.
Unnecessary? Yes.
Illegal? Maybe not.
Unnecessary? Yes. Definitely.
