so I'm creating a character in Brawl. I've recently started vertex hacking him using Anim8or, and I wanted to know if its possible to say copy and paste certain vertexes from different models too a specific model. For example taking the vertex of Tails' three front hair thingys from the model in green hill and paste or copy onto another characters model. If it is possible does anyone have a tutorial. please and thanks in advance.
I see what you did there ...

You can't move parts from one character to another. It just doesn't work. To my knowledge, there is no way to do something like that.

You can only move pieces like that between different vertexed versions of the same character. For example you could take Cloud's body and move it piece by piece onto a normal Ike, ending up with a Cloud with Ike's head.

I've heard that in 3dsmax there's an option to "mold" shapes to other shapes; you essentially could copy using this method. I guess you could download a trial and do it... unless you know someone else that has the program and could let you use it.

That sounds pretty useful. Is there a guide or anything discussing this? I'm still using a variation of Mariokart's method.

Maybe ask one of the main vertexers on the site.

if someone were to port tails or amy over say sonic. Would the vertexs be similar enough to copy their cooridinates and apply them to sonic. credit would of course be given.

hopefully this helps. If not, just go to the forum page home and search up "3ds max" or "vertexing" or something more specific like "opening .mdl0 files in 3ds max"
