common5_en.pac freezes.

So i'm trying to replace a CSP and stock icon and I did everything exactly as the guide said but it keeps freezing brawl for some reason...anyone know whats up?

Are they the same dimensions as the ones they're replacing? Is the CSP in either CI8 or CMPR format?

What version of BrawlBox do you use? I've been hearing ModSet is a bit buggy so if you're using that go get version 0.63d. If you are using that, then I can think of nothing else that could be the problem.

Get a fresh and new common5 from the data partition. :)

He said get it from the Data Partition. Find it in the Resources section of the site. It can be found at the very bottom.

Okay it's still not working...i've downloaded a clean common5_en.pac and did all the steps but it's STILL freezing...what the heck? >__<

Maybe it's the texture you have on the character you're making the CSP for; do you have a texture over him/her? Remove it and try again if you do. If he/she has no textures, I honestly have no clue in hell what your problem could be.

I'm using Roy V2 by Pik with the Melee PSA, and I wanted to use a Roy CSP for him. But it just freezes everytime when I use the modified common5_en.pac

Try removing him from whatever character he's over and see if it works (like if he's over Marth, remove all the files from Marth's folder, get a new Marth.pac). If it does, then either it's a bad hack or you didn't do something right.

I don't know what's up with this crap, I tried removing all files from Marth's folder and it still crashed...i'm pretty sure i'm not doing anything wrong I followed the guide perfectly. >__< *sighs*

Sorry but you got me stumped. I'm pretty sure you're doing everything right from what you've told me and all. I can't think of anything at all, unless your game itself is corrupt or something, I don't know.

this is a blind shot here...but the picture quality may be the problem (not the format) some pictures for some reason wont work because of the file quality..try another image to CSP.

Also make sure the pic is PNG
