Alright, I've pretty much worked my way every way around this I can think of. I want a non-shiny Sonic with certain patterns on his body and head. He's shiny now, and his body is always a uniform color, and it's driving me up the wall. I don't know what in Env01 makes someone shiny in particular, or how to edit this where it doesn't mess everything up, because when it's black, the head's only one color too, and when it's white, the body's still uniform in color.
I haven't done this for long, I'm a nub, I get that, but wt-f- is goin' on?

    0.63b is good enough.

I think it's the pink layer, there are some hacks that remove it

i ended up giving the texture a palette, which it was void of for whatever reason, and making the envelope a clear, 1-pixel png, all was well.
i'm guessing the pink layer was already removed from the texture i was editing from? but i dunno'. if i may, onto the next

i make a black sonic, wherein every layer is black but his eyes. some layers are 1 pixel wide, whereas some are 500 wide, due to error messages of some sort popping up when i use ones too small. it's making the game freeze. i ask anew, what gives?

(i forgot the most important part of the post -_-@freezing)

v.64 is VERY messed up and is not coded correctly, you should download v6.3 or the modset 4.2

@Tsunamida: Error messages? I get those when moddifying some parts of a stage...try finding a way around it, I think it's a glitch.

indeed, it is. either that, or it's something specific with the character:

i changed all of the envelope textures, save 01, to a very, very dark, almost black version, and reinserted the eye highlight. i honestly believe it's the eye highlight (that there must be something else there for it to pick up), and if i find this to be true, i will update this reply accordingly
so, i have yet another problem. upon using a texture for body and head that's straight black in the non-fleshy area, and adding a purple and yellow texture to both on the masks, there are these tiny black areas on his head, symmetrical and almost exactly the same amount apart, that it seems are not covered or something. i've used black textures for the head and body on all the other characters and not found this problem. so for the third time on a sonic related subject, what gives?
