More simply : admins and mods are dumb and mechanical. They need simple and (preferably) quantifiable numbers/stats to give awards.

With no numbers, we'd have to actually THINK and produce a judgement.
And that is, as everyone knows, completely impossible.

And it would also be quite unfair, but that goes without saying.

You have a hack that has over 3k downloads, yet one that has under 10 in a year.  That's uber pro.  That deserves an award in itself.  Ultimate inconsistency award.  

I still feel that there should be an award for making consistently good hacks...

I think Sdoom is hinting at something to do with the Average download per hack stat.  But that changes really easily... so idk.   Maybe let the community decide?  have a large poll with a bunch of people to choose from for the most consistently "good" hacks.

Also here are some pin ideas;

-Award for having the top downloaded hack for a certain character  (generic badge, not 40 individual ones)

-Award for having a recolor of someone else's hack getting more than a certain number of downloads

-Since its the holiday season, why not give out an award for people who complete other users requests in the request board. ( should be limited to December though)  It shouldn't be coincidental, you have to actually go out of your way to make something for someone.

Someone could give it a try, but I'm not interested in running a topic for that, personnally.

I wholly approve of this. I'll just put this specific condition : Ports do not count.
It's supposed to be rewarding people who manage to make something great out of sometimes difficult characters. Not slapping a different character on top of it (yes, I'm looking at you, Shadow and your ports ...).

That may be a bit more complicated, considering we don't really have many options to filter in Recolors only, in BV ... but I guess it could be doable.

Lol, I was just thinking of something like that yesterday evening.
Rewarding people who do requests is a great idea no matter the time of the year anyways, but I really like the "Christmas Spirit" idea behind this award idea. And Presents. :3

If SJS has some design ideas for these three, I can start handing out #1 and #3 and looks for solutions about #2.

We've still gotta find something to do with these pin designs too, btw.

Cool idea, but I'm not sure the higher-ups would like to go around removing awards every time a new hack makes it to the top.  Besides, what about stage hackers and the like?

Should we really be supporting recolors?  We already got a near epidemic of the damn things as is.

Now this I like, but I think it could be expanded.  Why limit it to December?  Taking up other people's requests should be encouraged.  It fosters a sense of community and the makes more people happy.  I say that the award should be for people that take up a certain number of requests (but not music requests for obvious reasons) and  it can be awarded at any time of the year.

How about the Ninja pin for members that hide their online status

but yet... if the word got around about how to get it ALOT of people would be hiding their status


well, if only there was a way to find out how long the people who hide their status have had it hidden,
then you could have that pin be for like a few months or a year of hidden status


or it could be something to do with lurking
