December is here, and there have been some recent game releases that I've been looking forward too. However, I'm currently lacking a 3DS, so those games will have to wait. Instead, I decided to do up some additional texture hacks for Mario Sports Mix.
Mario Sports Mix
Shadow Bowser - Download
Shadow Bowser Jr. - Download
Shadow Bowser and his son make once again, another comeback, after showing themselves in Mario Kart Wii. I guess when you're hungry for destruction, you'll go as far as sports competitions to accomplish the task. However, the two do have to restrain themselves from going all out.
During preparations, Shadow Bowser Jr. retextured one of E.Gadd's graffiti brushes so that it has the dark star logo displayed. I guess the dark star did more to Bowser Jr. than give him a dark counterpart.
Anyway, if you're hungry for sports domination, this duo is all set to win it all.

Christmas is coming, so I continued with making texture hacks for Mario Sports Mix. They're nothing Christmas-related though, but regardless, they can pretty much offer some changes to the game.
Mario Sports Mix
Red Slime - Download
Another species of Slime has been spotted. This so called Red Slime has a bit of a competitive streak in it, and it won't hesitate to show off its skills. Of course, even this competitor knows when to hold back its strength.
This texture replaces Slime's default color; the She-Slime and Metal Slime models operate differently from the default Slime model. Also, the three Slimes that appear during the Special Shot remain untouched.
Dry Cactuar - Download
Cactuars have come in various shapes and sizes, and now here's one that hasn't gotten much water into its system. The Dry Cactuar lives up to its name by having a brown colored body, but despite of its rusty looks, it's still quite fast on its feet. It just goes to show that even when they're not moist, Cactuars can still be a pain to catch.

Another New Year has come to pass, and I've got what I wanted for Christmas. Anyway, with Kirby's Return to Dream Land conquered, I decided to set up a pack of textures for the Brawl department.
Fighters
Note: The following images came from the Dolphin Emulator, since it does offer better quality screenshots than the other option.
Summer Style Peach
Princess Peach has been looking for new summer clothes, and ended up getting six different sleeveless dresses. She also went with a breast enhancement to make herself look even more attractive.
The dresses come in the following colors...
White + Light Blue White + Orange Red + White Blue + White White + Green Pink + White
I basically came up with this idea from an image that I ran into, and unlike my past hacks, this is a pack, designed to replace not only all of Peach's color slots, but also, a lot of Peach's portraits. This includes the main menu, the solo game modes, group mode, and even the character roll call.
Although not pictured, Peach's fake and dark textures have been modified too.
The download also contains TEX0 and PLT0 files that you can use manually, just in case you've already modified the contents mentioned above.
This will be available to download at the Brawl Vault. Also, the vertex hacks were done by LenSho and BlackJax96, so credits to them.

It has been over "2" months since my last texture hack. Ever since I've got my 3DS, my hacking activity went down, especially with games like Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7, and Dillon's Rolling Western.
However, I've recently bought Mario Party 9, and apparently, it appears that that game's contents can be edited too. Because of this, I'm making an attempt to do texture hacks for that game now.
Anyway, the following is a sneak peek of what I've been working on recently. It's a spoiler though...
Mario Party 9Now, I have yet to test all of this stuff out, since I'm still working on unlocking all of Mario Party 9's game modes. I'm also attempting to write down all the files that I have to modify if I want to edit all the icons and portraits.
Still, if all goes well, I've reveal actual screenshots of my work.

I've recently been able to test out my texture modifications, so I'll now show screenshots of my work. The screenshots are in a spoiler box, considering their size.
Mario Party 9I do need to do some final tests before considering releasing the texture modifications though, but I've managed to cover most of the files that contain the icons and portraits.

I think I've spent enough time testing out my texture edits, so here's my work...
Mario Party 9
Red Yoshi - Download
I did a lot of work with these texture edits. Not only did I modify Yoshi's body and face, but I also modified his portraits and icons. What you see on the image above is only a portion of my edits. To see them all, you'll just have to try out the edits yourself.
The download comes included with a bunch of text documents, which tell you what files to look for, along with the offset placements for each texture part. The icons are merely aesthetic, but it's just something that I did while viewing the ISO's contents.
Anyway, feel free to use this hack, and just pay attention to the readme text document along the way.

I have my next texture hack all done, and it's pretty much all set to use.
Mario Party 9
Red Magikoopa - Download
Yup, it's the Red Magikoopa, which appeared in the Paper Mario and Mario Baseball titles. Simply put, I merely changed the Magikoopa's cloak to a red coloring. And of course, I altered his icons and portraits along the way. Just like with Red Yoshi, you'll just have to go through all the files that the download contains to see all the portraits that have been modified.
On a side note, some of the content is region-specific, since in the PAL version of Mario Party 9, Magikoopa is named Kamek. Since the download contents are from the NTSC-U version of the game, I'm not too sure about how the PAL version will handle them.
Regardless, enjoy this texture hack.

Just wanted to pop in and say I like these. I think the white portion of each dress is too bright without enough contrast so it looks like cloth, but it's still a cool texture pack. How did you get such HQ CSPs? They look as if they were in the game by default. Is most of it just from Dolphin or did you do something else?

@Shun_One: I used the Dolphin Emulator to get the good quality portraits for my Summer Style Peach texture pack. Before I made that texture pack, I mostly just took in-game snapshots and decrypted them with a snapshot decrypter.
You see, the file patch code can be used with the Dolphin Emulator, which made it possible for me to test the texture hacks on an emulator without having to make a custom ISO. With that information in mind, I was able to take high quality screenshots, and turn them into portraits.
For an example...Anyway, I'm sorry if the texture colors are too bright at some spots. The stage lighting can do that at times.

Ah, I see. That explains quite a lot to me. Those screens still look much better than normal. I'm uncertain if my laptop can use Dolphin or not, but I'll find that out later on.
No need to apologize, it doesn't really bother me that much.

Hey that's pretty damn useful. Mind dropping in some words or a link to a tutorial as to how I can emulate the SD card? Where should I be placing my custom files?

You need to have a program that can create an SD card file. WinImage is the best option, but it's not free.
Anyway, with WinImage, you can make an SD card file that holds the exact same amount of memory as the SD card that you use on your Wii. It primarily involves injecting that very SD card to make an actual SD card file. The SD card file has to be called sd.raw, in order for the Dolphin Emulator to read it though.
