it probably just tried to boot from the HDD instead of it's internal hard drive, happens to me with CDs and DVDs xD

lol naah, what it was doing was staying at a black screen after hitting the power button, didnt show any signs of it coming on, and the caps lock button light kept on flashing.

How many times did it flash? Cause there's several errors within those flashes.

LEDs blink 4 times__Graphics controller not functional

My tip to you, is uninstall the latest updates that caused it. This might happen again if you don't.
