One thing though, I didn't really know who Zack was, and he is my all time, hands down, favorite Toon Link hack.
I'd be happy with Sparkster either over Toon Link or Ness.
Leaning more towards Toon Link though, but its your call good sir.

If you talk about the 2010 game, well it's quite good, a fun little side scroller although it's not as good the fist game Rocket Knight Adventure (for Megadrive/Genesis) or its sequels simply called Sparkster (2 entirely different games were realese; one on Megadrve/Genesis the other on SNES). |

I've been super busy with Project M, but I'm definitely happy about Sparkster.
Really, I'll work with whoever you put him over. Ideally, it'd be great to use a character with a built in omnidirectional upb, but Ness would be kind of annoying due to double jump issues, and I'm not sure if I could get the directions to work with the joystick instead of PKT anyway.
Wolf with an edited boneset would work for me, but wouldn't really fit if people wanted to just use the model and not a PSA.
Honestly, whoever you settle on will have positives and negatives for me. I'll work with whatever you think is best.

I hadn't thought about Diddy but that could work really well, the rocket, the tail, the expressions I think, the lack of hacks for him.
Though the rest of his moveset doesn't fit...
