another texture, i know, it's cuz the model came with 8 textures O.O

This might be a cool model to make recolors off of.

is there any quick way to convert a group of tga textures to png?

The GIMP can modify .tga textures without any problems.  If you're using Photoshop CS3 or later, however, transparency is held differently for the .tga image format.
