Rigging one version with new textures, and one with the originals? I thought you said this wasn't gonna happen, haha. Also, why do you need to rig two separate versions for the sake of textures? Why not rig just the one version, copy those .pcs and .pac files, and simply "replace" the old textures with the new ones?
That wouldn't work because SJS edits the UV mapping in the models he retextures.

I'm pretty sure everyone and their grandmother knows this by now, but JESUS CHRIST THIS.
Any idea if progress will be made on Awakening Roy soon? I'd love to use that outfit when P:M 3.0 is released in the future.

I didn't know about that! I love the new look of his hair. Also no progress on awakening Roy yet.

I can't believe it's been ALL this time and Smashers as hardcore as the Project M Team STILL don't realize that Roy's cape is flippin' blue, not purple!!

Nitpicking aside, I can't believe they pulled this off! Evidently, this is a WHOLE new character slot; no replacements necessary at all. They better tell the rest of the hacking community how to do this! I REALLY don't like it when major hack-teams keep things secret... like their codeset...

But on a more relevant note, Vert, have you heard ANY word from ANY riggers? What gives? This is getting ridiculous. I swear by next weekend I'm going to learn how to rig models and do this personally, provided your OK with that.

I wish I could do rigging and importing and such or I'd definitely try to get involved with this. All I'm good at is making fairly basic textures, CSPs, and sometimes BRSTMs or simple animations or something.

Also, with Roy, apparently the clone engine is now working, which likely means that they'll be adding at least someone else other than Roy. I just noticed yesterday that someone put a download pack up (for Brawl Minus I think) that adds three slots for Roy, Mewtwo, and Knuckles without affecting Marth, Lucario, or Sonic at all. I believe there are about ten extra slots in the game data that aren't really used for anything; the seven characters who got cut from the original game (Mewtwo, Roy, Dr. Mario, Dixie Kong, etc.), a Beta Mario Debug slot, and one or maybe two blank slots. I don't know how many or which ones are usable, but Roy isn't replacing anyone in P:M, so maybe they got his original slot working?

BTW, if you haven't seen their Turbo Mode Captain Falcon video, it's pretty sweet. Cheesy

A lot of people are asking for Roy for this coming Tuesday, so there's a change we might see more of him. As awesome as that sounds, personally, I'd like to see someone really slow like Ganon, Ike, or even Bowser.

It's not just for Minus (i think), and you can edit a <insert character rel> to modify incase you don't want those slots (like a Sonic) to make it a marth port so Lucina can have her own too!

Anyway, can't wait for Awakening Roy.  That Roy is so awesome, that Sakurai couldn't handle it.

I'm digging the hair myself, but I'm not sure if that's how his in-game model will, or if that's just the enhanced character render.

I'm pretty sure they focused more on his melee look than his FE6 appearance.

    Clearly purple there.

I was on /v/ the other day, they actually mentioned that the PMBR plans on adding characters from more recent games into Project M at some point, including Lucina, Mewtwo X/Y and others like that. Pretty sure it's nothing more than a rumor at this point, but with the extra character slot codes, the sky is pretty much the limit now.

I know it was purpler in Melee, but honestly. Pandering to Nintendo >>>>>> Pandering to Melee. The developers need to start taking more risks in terms of UPDATING Melee rather than merely COPYING it, and this is just another one of those little "seriously guys? come on now" moments.

But it's not that big of a deal, haha. ...Aside from the fact that I'll probably have to re-do my SoS Roy specifically for this Character Slot... grumble grumble...

So many characters were already different in Brawl anyway. The Zelda characters look almost exactly how they did in Twilight Princess, aside from some very, very minor coloring and shading stuff to make them a little less dull, but almost everyone else is different in some way. They probably could have easily put Samus' Prime 2 and 3 look into the game, but for some reason they went with a slightly more modern Super Metroid-ish design. Same with Captain Falcon and the Star Fox characters. They're pretty loosely based on a combination of their older and more recent games. I was so disappointed that Captain Falcon didn't look more like he did in F-Zero GX. Fortunately, there are hacks for that.

Ah, right, forgot about that lol. But, I can honestly doubt the PMBR will go anywhere near 50 characters, for the sake of keeping character balance and all. Plus I'm not sure how many characters can be added before people's Wii's begin to explode.

Well, if anything people can change the outfits themselves. I'm personally gonna use either my personal Awakening-styled texture on Thany's model or the model import when it's released.

I know man, and I'm saying that's not the way it should be! You yourself said you were disappointed we didn't see an F-Zero GX Falcon.

If you look at my personal Vault, you'll notice that I'm... a bit of an extremist when it comes to this. xD

If you look carefully at the trailer, There are a few points (such as 1:33-1:34) where it looks like they may have changed his blue costume to have the red-orange underside, as he has in his FE artwork. That still leaves his armor with a silver trim, but the blue-and-orange cape was definitely there.

On more the topic here, I am indeed awaiting an Awakening Roy from this thread for after PM 3.0 comes out.
