How to mod characters completely?

So, I've downloaded Waluigi Time!, and Waluigi himself works, but none of Pit's pictures or names have been replaced? The read WAA.txt does not help simply because it calls things by different names than the filenames, leading to confusion. Which files do I put in which folders? How do I know which files to put in sc_selcharacter or sc_selcharacter2? So if somebody could please provide better instructions on how to properly use this mod, I would be very grateful. In fact, if all mods are going to be this obnoxious to use, could somebody just tell me how to use them in general? Or link me to a guide that explains it decently?

You say Waluigi works just fine... That's already a complete character mod if you ask me. If you want to go as far as to editing their Battle Portraits then those are separate files in the pf/info/portrite folder. You can download clean ones here. Since it's over Pit, look for Pit's portraits.
