Sometimes, when I'm playing a normal brawl on Riivolution, the match freezes mid-countdown like "3-2-(beep of death) It can happen every few hours or every other match. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

It might be a broken stage or character

It's a corrupted character file. A corrupted stage would freeze as soon as you select it.

The game should freeze just before a character appears, right? For example, if the game freezes just before a hack of, say Link, appears, then that Link hack is corrupted. That's how I figured it out.

I hate necroposting as much as the next guy, but I'm still having the problems mentioned above after redownloading every original file.

Sometimes, you'll need to RE-CREATE the .pac or .pcs file by yourself, since it is probably those files which are corrupted.

Hmmm...Okay. I'm also having another issue. I'm using Cloud Strife Platinum Edition Over Olimar

And he spawns just fine. Problem is, he so much as twitches (I press a button, try to move him around etc.) The game freezes with that annoying beep of death.
