Hey there! I have been using hacks on Smash Bros for a while now, but I have never created anything myself.
I've done some searches of the forums and google, and can't find a good tutorial on how to import stages. I assume it would use BrawlBox.

I have a model that I would like to use in 3ds format, but I can change that if necassary. So Yeah, the question is, can anyone explain or at least point me toward how I would go about importing such a model into Brawl as a stage?

Which format is the model originally?

Importing models for stages is quite easier in comparison to importing for characters.

It's a .bmd from Twilight Princess, I used bmdviewer to convert it to .3ds.

Also thats good to hear that it's easier!

Importing stages is no different from importing characters. Get it into 3ds Max, rig it to some skeleton, export it as a DAE, then import it into Brawl Box. From there, just follow the several tutorials there are in material and shader editing, and stage making.

It's easier because all you need is one single bone for the whole model, so you can rig it in no time...

0.o That's a texture problem, that or an export setting was wrong. Try reassigning the textures in max then import to BB again.

If you used a more recent version of Brawl Box, check Shader0 and make sure TextureRef0 is set to true.
