Changing Team Colors

I couldn't find a tutorial on this, so I'll get straight to the point. How do I change the application of different team colors? For example, what do I do to make Meta Knight's blue team color his default costume instead of the dark blue one? I know this is possible, since Project M replaced Marth's blue costume with a purple one and made his new blue team color his default costume.

Sorry if I worded this poorly, I'll try to explain it clearer. What I'm specifically trying to do is change which color is used when I select "blue team" for Meta Knight. Regularly, it will select Meta Knight's dark blue costume. I want to alter this so it selects Meta Knight's default costume instead, when I select "blue team."

Just put a texture of the original color over blue color.
