Ok I know that people have said that this "can't be done" that it's "impossible" that there's no freaking way to have a perfect copy of one character added into Brawl completely. Shadow vs Sonic is a good example of this phenomenon.

So WHY is this not CURRENTLY possible? I think if we can answer this question completely then we will be one step closer to solving this popular problem.

If we can get enough people to attempt to try and figure this problem out then I believe that this is completely possible and that we only limit ourselves....

The rest is up to you.

It's not impossible. In fact if someone cared enough it would be a simple but annoying matter because of hard-coding and individual graphics. A bunch of characters can be swapped over and Cloud swapped over Marth works pretty well.

After swapping over a character someone would have to spend the time doing a brand new PSA. As of now nobody has gone through the effort. If one were to decide to do it it is possible. I may do it myself for a future PSA.

So why can't a few decently qualified people work together to lighten the load?

There's a lot of demand for this and I'm talking about ADDING another clone, not replacing another character :p

Adding a character is impossible. Brawl is made that it can only have a certain number of characters. All the playable characters, Giga-Bowser, Warioman and the Alloys. No other character slots can be made.

Model swapping. If that works then a PSA after that. I'm gonna do that for my next PSA. Not sure who will be over who and what to do with it just yet.

All that can be done is to get right of a character you don't like by purposely swapping and making a PSA for them.

    Wait what no.

Phantom Wings (a guy on Smash Boards, also the guy who made the FPC) has been experimenting with it for a while, and succeeded in creating an alternate character slot for Link so he could do Link vs. Zero. Sadly, the game froze when he performed certain actions, and he still has a lot of work to do. So it's not impossible, just extremely hard to do and impractical until PW releases his findings.

Issac Newton said that just bc something is possible doesn't mean it's practical... By the looks of it, someone would actually have to program (yes, actually program) in a new thing to call up say sonic's resources twice and store under a different file name with a clone model, psa, textures, css, csp, etc. And we'd be able to edit each one independently.

...or something along those lines :p

Yeah the clone engine. He's been working on that for a long time. Still unusable.

Well, we can already create new Character Select Boxes with Phantom Wings' CSS Modifier 2.0 (which you can find on Smash Boards), so all we'd need to do at this point is create a custom .rel file to work with it and create extra data, as well as anything else PW says is needed for it to work.
