Dolphin Gecko Help

Hello, I recently decided to switch from wii to dolphin. I started playing regular Brawl and New Super Mario flawlessly. I wanted to bring over all of my hacks from my old SD to a digital SD. Anyway I got it all set up in a digital SD and decided to get going with the codes. Dolphin DOES have Gecko code compatibility but as far as I know it cannot be switched to AXNextFrame. This is a problem for me because I have BrawlEx. So I redownloaded Gecko and tried to run the .DOL file provided. Gecko booted up but it was not responding. So my question is does anyone else have this problem or know what I am doing wrong?
