How to add characters to SSBB.............

So I've been thinking, do I have to code each guy to have in my own mod, not going to be public, or can I just take files, for instance, Tabuu? If I can just take files, where could I take them? From already made mods? Also the video I watched (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UoWad-wuqFs) all it looked like he did was just added Lucas? I didn't quite understand how this would help with adding you already made characters.

How BrawlEx works is, it adds clones of normal Brawl characters into Brawl; then, after they're added, you can place mods in those folders like you would the normal character.(e.g. If you called your clone MarioQ, you would name your 00 file FitMario00.pac/.pcs in the MarioQ folder, like you would ordinarily for Mario, only you'd be doing it for the clone instead.)
