Requiring Assistance with Modifying the Character Selection Screen

I'm new at the whole Brawl hacking thing. In fact, I don't know how to hack actual Brawl, I just use Brawl+. I have a good handle on modifying the character movesets and outfits (thanks to the awesome users of this forum). What I can't seem to figure out is how to change the character selection screen. I have the portraits at the bottom changing with each color, but the image in the "grid" itself never changes. Also the in battle character portrait doesn't change either. I have no idea what to do or what to look for. If someone could direct me to the necessary information, or just tell me; I would be most appreciative.

The pictures in the actual select screen never change, so I'm not sure I know what you're talking about there. As for the in-battle/post-battle pictures, those are separate from the ones on the select screen. I don't mess with them myself so I can't give much advice, but they have to be placed in another section individually (not changed in the common5) I know there are several topics in this help forum about changing  those, so I would just check around here a bit, you'll probably find one within the first few pages.
