Show-Accurate Jenny Wakeman (Global Response Unit XJ-9) by Aspiring-Creator with credit to NootNoot64 (for the original upload), lemurboy12 for the AotT model and CaliKingz01 for the Mega Man X PSA[Character - Texture, Vertex, Import, Moveset (PSA) - R.O.B.]
(Note: I'm terribly sorry for the simple BrawlBox images. I would dig out my Wii to test this properly but unfortunately the console is not long for this world. That being said, considering this model is fairly low poly and the textures are very simple? It should function on actual hardware.)
Jenny logs in!
In celebration of Jenny finally getting more of the attention she deserves with her inclusion in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, SMITE and the upcoming Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3, I decided to do this little edit. See, the model that's up on BrawlVault right now is the model from the game Nicktoons: Attack of the Toybots which to be fair is a pretty snazzy little thing for being Jenny's first appearance on a proper home console but being a fan of the show, I couldn't help but notice some... oddities with it. For one thing the way the bangs were textured looked off from certain angles, certain details were off from the show such as the bottom of her feet having the tip of the toe in blue when they should be a plain white and the smile that's not only way too big but also it's permanently open leading to me getting the vibe that it looked a bit too much like a creepy mascot outfit you'd see in a theme park rather than it being our loveable crime-fighting robot. Finally there was just the nature of the X-Buster being left completely unchanged from the original X model that came with this moveset which clashed hard with the simple aesthetic due to it having all these little details and being much more realistic.
So with that in mind, I decided to tweak this model so that it was much more in line with the show. The images show off some of the tweaks well but for a quick rundown.
-I resized and repositioned the belly bolt using an official render as a reference for where it should go.
-I got rid of the tiny bit of blue that was showing through on the eyebrows so now they're more in line with the show.
-Turned the outline of the eyes black as to better match the show and create a bit more definition on the model.
-Redid the bottom of the feet with a model sheet and a screencap of the show for reference so that they are now show-accurate.
-Using an image of Jenny along with my own art skill, I carefully through a mixture of tracing and drawing redid the bangs so that they looked more like the show while also being just a bit more natural in 3D.
-I completely redid the mouth and turned it into a simple closed mouth smile that's more in line with what you'd see in the show.
-Slightly retooled the legs to remove the bit of blue bleed that was showing through and so that I could have the blue portions have a bit more of a curve at the knees to better capture the animation model.
-Using images of her Laser Limb attachment as a reference along with my own eye for color placement, I redid the texturing of the X-Buster so that it looks like her arm properly formed into the cannon and so that it matched more closely with the model.
-Various slight tweaks here and there.
As a bonus, I even included red, blue and green recolors and I redid the CSP and BP by utilizing her portrait from Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl. Nothing wrong with the original portrait of course but for this I felt a small mod was needed. Finally I included the old X PSA just to insure people can use this. Thanks for reading, I hope this mod serves you well.
