1  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: [RESOLVED] Recolor question about FS eyes with Pikachu. on: September 28, 2010, 04:29:42 PM
I know what happens...

the area around the eyes and cheeks is either too light, or too dark...
I had this problem when I was working on Dark Pikachu V1...
(you can still see it if you look in the images)

the problem is because the material for the FSeye's is set to 'darken'

thus you have to set the body color to match the material passthrough

I had to make D-Pika V2 lighter before using him to fix V1.
(the lighter factor was easier to figure out) :/
△ meaning I had to increase the brightness of the images (textures) by 1 until it looked right...
a very tedious/annoying process...
but well worth the effort.

EDIT:
I just looked & saw it was RESOLVED...
so I guess my words were useless here Sad
No, they weren't useless! I found them to be further helpful, actually. Cheesy
2  Help & Tutorials / Help / [RESOLVED] Recolor question about FS eyes with Pikachu. on: September 28, 2010, 10:55:56 AM
I posted a question about this yesterday, how I recolored a Pikachu but when it was able to use a FS, the area around its eyes wasn't consistent with the rest of its body. I was given a link with tutorials (http://forums.kc-mm.com/index.php?topic=7.0) on how to remedy this problem, and I've followed the steps exactly (numerous times over, I might add) but still haven't produced any results. I've tried using both Photoshop and GIMP, as indicated by the tutorials, but still nothing.

I don't know if this matters, but I use Photoshop 6, and don't have Photoshop CS4. I know that this problem can be resolved in GIMP, which is why I elected to try using that as opposed to buying/pirating CS4.

tl;dr, I was wondering if someone maybe knew what I'm doing wrong? Like I said, I've followed the steps exactly but I've still messed up somehow. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

4  Help & Tutorials / Help / Noob question regarding a Pikachu recolor that I made. on: September 27, 2010, 05:57:08 PM
Over the past few days, I've been reading up on how to hack characters and stages into Brawl. I downloaded a ton of premade characters and stages, but I really wanted to create my own character-- nothing fancy, just a simple recolor. So, I picked Pikachu, and decided to color him pink, for the hell of it. Everything turned out fine, save for one minor detail; when he gets a Smash ball, the area around his eyes and cheeks is a noticeably different color than the rest of his body. Like I said, it's a minor error, but it's just a little bit irritating.

Is there any way that I can fix it so that when Pikachu gets a Smash Ball, the color of his body is consistent? Also, I decided to keep his eyes the normal color when he gets a Smash Ball, as opposed to having them turn yellow; could this have affected anything?
