Due to the Nintendo WFC Shutdown, we are no longer able to battle friends online, access leaderboards and rankings, etc.
However, thanks to MrBean35000vr, Wiimm, and Leseratte, we can now do those things once again, with the Wiimmfi Patcher. The Wiimmfi Patcher enables online functionality by modifying the server address so that it connects to the Wiimmfi servers.
Instructions
Step 1: Click here and download the Wiimmfi Patcher.
(In case you already have a program that can unarchive files, skip Steps 2 & 3)
Step 2: Download B1 Free Archiver or Winrar.
Step 3: Open the archive with one of the programs listed in Step 2.
Step 4: Read the README file that comes with the archive.Alternate Instructions
(For Those Who Don't Want to Use the Homebrew Channel)
Step 1: Turn on your Wii.
Step 2: Go to the Wii Options Menu>Wii Settings>Internet>Connection Settings>Connection 1, 2, or 3>Change Settings
Step 3: Scroll to the left until you see "Auto-Obtain DNS," click on No, and click the Advanced Settings box.
Step 4: Click on Primary DNS (not Secondary) and type the following into the box and click OK when you're done:

Step 5: Test any game that has online functionality and... You're done!Error Codes
You may receive an error code while connecting, but don't fret. Here are the list of error codes and what they mean:
23901 : Server closed because of maintenance
23902 : Too many users, try later
23911 : Profile is temporary banned
23912 : Profile is banned
23913 : Console is temporary banned
23914 : Console is banned
23921 : Game is not supported
23922 : Unknown console
23931 : Login failed
23932 : Illegal HTTP header
23933 : Missing required login parameter
23934 : Invalid login parameter
23935 : Unknown login action
23941 : Missing required DLS1 parameter
23942 : Unknown DLS1 action
23943 : DLS1 file not found
23991 : Database error
23999 : Internal error
