1  Help & Tutorials / Help / Changing vertex Weps back to original? on: November 06, 2010, 09:58:58 PM
By any chance, is there a way you could change vertex hacked weps back to their original weps?
As in changing a a Kunai back to Ikes standard Sword or Foxs Vertex gun back into just a regular gun?
Some changes just seem out of place for me and would like to just have normal weps with the textures.
Thanks

Then the magenta is not FF00FF.
Hmm, I've tried filling the background with FF00FF and it still gives me the magenta outline around the character. Is there something I'm missing? Also just to be sure does channels effect anything? Its set on 8. Sorry for all the questions.

I'm not seeing anything wrong with your portrait.  I tried re-indexing the portrait and I also compressed it so that it used less memory.  Try my portrait edit to see if it works.  If it still doesn't, try checking to see if you're using too many portraits.

Again, I don't know why you're having this problem since it has never happened to me.

Yep...same problem, and if I may ask, how do you check if your using too many portraits? If it helps I've been using MASTERLINKS pack on youtube that already had CSPs added.

Add magenta in before indexing and index without transparency checked.

Hmm, how exactly do you do this? I opened up the image and its already in Index format, I went to color table and I'm not sure were to add magenta. Theres whole palette seems filled up with black boxes at the bottom if you mean adding magenta in 1 of those. Also, there is a box at the top that has magenta in it but the color code is ff01ff, I've tried changing that to FF00FF and doing what you said it didnt work

Anyways I uploaded the image http://www.mediafire.com/?3mmmawyu2oz if anyone wanted to look at whats wrong(or not wrong) with the csp.

Your new portrait is stored in the newfiles folder, right?  Also, don't modify ANY of the portraits in the templates folder; that may be the root of your problems.

I left the template files alone and put the CSP in the new files already I also tried re downloading CUPASH and its still the same problem.

When you save a CSP in Photoshop, you need to click Save As and change the file type to tga. Clicking Save makes it use the default format, psd, which isn't usable.

I checked to make sure it was a TGA before saving it.

I'm not sure where I'm messing up exactly but I follow these steps

Open Photoshop

File > Open > NEW CSP BATCH > mario3_big.tga

Image > Mode > Change to RGB(Index is usually checked) > Index

Local (perceptual) > I either use 72 or 256 colors > Black and White > Transparency checked

Image > Color Table > change Transparency to FF00FF

Save as mario3_big.tga > Open Meow Mix CUPASH step 2 >  big mario 3 does not have an index palette

@mnsg For checking is its reconizing as Index I'm not sure how to check that. If you mean the little box on the right hand corner of the screen with the picture that says Index(theres also a lock icon next to it) then yes

I have tried leaving the Transparency box unchecked and als tried having the transparency on and not editing it at all in the color table.

Well, I ended up finding a trial for CS2 Photoshop(not sure which version matters) I tried indexing it again With Local (perceptual) 72 and 256 colors, also tried lower than 72. Had transparent checked.Tried changing the transparent box to FF00FF and tried it with leaving it alone. I still get the So and so does not have a index palette screen. I'm probaly missing something simple but I cant seem to figure it out.

Did you try indexing it again with Photoshop? You didn't say you reindexed, or anything.

I only have access to GIMP(free trial ran out on Photoshop) I did try reindexing again with 72 colors and I still get the error

I just started trying to add CSP's to brawl, I downloaded Meowmixs cupash and downloaded a CSP pack with premade CSP in it. I got through step 1 fine, the original CSP are in template are there, but during step 2 I keep getting something like "Mario_4 doesnt have a Index color will ignore" I've also downloaded the cupash_step2.pl in the guides and replaced the old one, and tried it again to no avail. I'm not entirely sure what the problem is but any help is appreciated.
