That wasn't the the problem. The .gtc code I had didn't have the disable custom stages code that was necessary for me. I found the codes, added them to txt files and ultimately I used wii cheat manager to create the .gtc file that I needed. It all works now, thanks for the help!

I tried making my common5's sc_selcharacter_em and character select's sc_selcharacter_en the same like SGVenom suggested, but it doesn't solve the problem that I get every time I go to my SSS screen.

Is there something that I need to change in my sc_selmap file?

EDIT: NVM, i just removed the sc_selmap file and the same problem happened.

Every time I go to my SSS after about 2 seconds the game freezes.

Thanks, I'm currently using Gecko, not riivolution, so I don't know much about riivolution. Anyway, so the problem is my common5 is being overridden it seems, but I don't actually HAVE a common5 file. Any ideas on where to get it and where I should put it?

If you're gonna ask for help getting something to work, do it in the "Help" section.

Thanks for the directions, wasn't aware, which was pretty obvious in my post. Thanks though, posted there.

EDIT: I FIXED IT Smiley

Hi, I'm kinda new to this whole business so pardon me if I'm doing something completely stupid.

I was downloading ASK1nk's Blue Css and SSS and I ran into a few problems... Here's the thread: http://forums.kc-mm.com/index.php?topic=6201.0

I did read the whole first page so don't bite my head off for not reading, but when I go to load the game the CSS works totally fine (except there are 2 zeldas, marios, gannondorfs, etc) but I'm not sure if that's what was intended. (Also, there are no alloys, which is what I'm trying to get so I can add imported characters to them)

Regardless, when I go to use the stage selection screen it freezes and makes an obnoxious beeping noise that I'm all too familiar with.. signalling that something has gone amiss.

Now, i used the regular Dark Blue CSS screen without a problem until I upgraded to the advanced one (with extra pokemon, zelda/sheik split, etc). I was just curious what could be the problem. I downloaded the complete .gtc file from here, (with the added ability to do anything with camera angles, alloys, gigabowser, etc.) but it seems to me that that file seems to be causing the problems as I have changed nothing else on my SD card other than than changing the CSS screen from regular to advanced and the .gtc file.

I'm just curious what I'm doing wrong. I am by no means pro at this so I'm pretty sure it's my error not anyone else's

I also read about the CSS file overriding a common5 (I think that's what it's called) but I don't have a common5 on my SD card, could that be the problem?

I'm also running balanced brawl using their hackless method of loading the game. I do have Gecko for the homebrew if that will be better but they seem to do the same thing.

Sorry if I'm spamming or being a bother, if that's the case don't hesitate to hide my post, but I was curious what the issue was.

Thanks for anyone who helps! I can provide additional information if needed.
