What is the difference between Brawl's Castle Siege and Sm4sh's? Don't they use the same models?
The red triangular scale pattern thing on the floor of the castle part is made of actual geometry now, instead of a texture. It's hard to notice, though.
oh... naaah i didnt really think about doing that.. lol
edit: what do we have here? hmmm something simple... or is it? (seems to be going by fast honestly..)
#MyD**k
Are those shadows from the buildings just a texture? Or do they function like the character shadows in Brawl? Looks like the situation might be like Wii U's Battlefield, where you won't be able to put everything in.
And a somewhat unrelated question: What stages have the biggest file sizes and most stuff to work off of? I think Final Destination (STGFINAL) is the largest.
So, outta curiousity, I checked the Orbital Gate stage and the total amount of polys is 128.294, while the gate alone has 72.247 and the Great Fox 56.047. Good luck if you wanna make that one.
You could optimize (reduce polycount while trying to retain shape) the models so they will work in Brawl. They obviously won't look as good as in SSB4, but it's better than nothing, I suppose.
And I'm curious as to how everyone is getting the SSB4 model files... Is there a place to download them on the internet, or do you have to have a Wii U dusk, dump it on the computer, and get the files from there? I don't have the disk. :<
Mewtwo2000 and DSX8 have been very helpful to me in the past with their PMs, even though they haven't answered in a few months.
SSB4 is certainly a reason for the lack of interest these days, but keep in mind that although SSB4 has things that Brawl doesn't, on the flip side, Brawl hacking has been able to create things that SSB4 doesn't have. Take Project M's ocarina easter egg for Link. And look at the SMBZ Mario moveset hack. And, y'know, the based clone engine.
I didn't realize there were these sorts of problems with the community with attitudes and such. Sorry about that.
Well, hot diggity damn. Honestly surprised to see the Wii U models being ripped this early. (and before the 3DS version models as well) Amazing! And they actually don't look too shabby on a lower-grade system like the Wii, despite the different shading and lighting mechanics.
Didn't know the Wii could handle many of those higher-poly models.
I'm working with ShadowLuigi to bring more of the WAAA!! Just so you know, we plan on doing this to all of the playable Brawl characters....oh god....Kirby.....that'll be hell. XD
Heh. Reminds me of the Photoshopped pics of the Brawl characters with Wario's face.
Honestly...I kinda hope it doesn't become hackable for at least 5 or so years.
Brawl hacking has come so far, with the clone engine, model imports, voice imports, moveset hacking, etc. Sure, SSB4 may be higher quality in some parts, but don't think any simple hacks on that could compare to Brawl's.
And I'm only just getting into hacking and I don't wanna be left behind, so there's that...
Well, I made the textures on Final Destination WiiU smaller and split up the stage into several .dae files but it still didn't work. I put the .dae files all inside modeldata 2, because I don't think you can add more modeldatas successfully. (going off of this: http://smashboards.com/threads/dreams-of-creating-stages.347915/#post-16348532)
I'm kinda pissed right now... I wish this would work.
Edit: filesize is 3.20 mb. Original STGFinal.pac is 3.10 mb.
Tried testing out my Wii U FD stage, but it froze the game...
I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I replaced the stage in Modeldata 2, and replaced the textures... The textures I'm currently using are 1024 x 1024. Could that be it?
...ugh. I'm being too ambitious with my first hacks.
I should be working on Lumiose--er, Prism Tower, but I go ahead and try this:
Could've got this far a day or so ago, but I had to go to work and I fell asleep after getting home for the rest of the day. That's what I get for staying up late the night after the direct...
that new final destination will be on the vault before we can say... err... what's the longest word in the world?
Challenge accepted.
Also, it turns out that the lag on my Lumiose City attempt wasn't because of my city model, but rather because of the actual Final Destination platform. Replacing it made everything much faster.
So it's just going to be Final Destination with a Lumiose City background? How disappointing...
But none the less, you're doing great for a newcomer.
....Um, no. Not really. It's unfinished, so I haven't tried removing the Final Destination platform and adding collision the floor of my city model.
I'm kinda hoping for a stage where the main platform moves around and up the tower, similar to what Sakurai implies to happen in the official SSB4 stage.
Oooh. Lumiose. You gonna make it like the Smash 4 version or are you gonna have set locations to fight?
Dunno. I'm new to Brawl hacking in general, so I can't really answer that yet. Most areas at the edges of the city are low-poly, so I intended for the fight to stay around the central tower.
include a version that crashes the game when it reaches a certain point XD
...lol Brings up an interesting thought, though. Would it be possible to hack in a joke/troll character with a move that would deliberately crash the game?...
Rig is nearly complete, and heck of a lot better than my last iterations!
I know, you guys are probably sick of seeing iterations of Krystal With that said, this is gonna be more than just a rig, I'll make recolors, CSPs, in-battle portraits, and so on But one thing's for certain, I've learned from my past rigs on what NOT to do lol.
That walk looks...seductive. I'm interested in seeing what the final portraits and recolors will look like.
