Well, for me, defragmenting something would be the same as formatting, except formatting is defragmenting and changing the format of the drive. What format is your memory card? NTSC? FAT?
Could have sworn they were different things. Because Windows doesn't give you the option by default to defrag flash media but you can format and even with digital cameras there is no defrag option but you can format. I guess because flash media has no moving parts? And my card is fat or fat32 depending on the size (and compatibility).

Hey the game freezes when you make stage selection random. Can you confirm this? I'm using version 1.0 of your hacks.
I remember using Brawl hacks a few years ago and when the game froze I was instructed to defrag the card and try again. A lot of times it worked but eventually it would freeze up again. Recently, I read that defragging a sd card shortens it's lifespan and degrades the chip in the card. Is this true? If so then why have people been suggesting to defrag our sd cards? It makes me think the reason my brawl hacks were freezing when others who were using the same hacks were freeze-free was because I degraded my chip by defragging so much.
I'm having trouble getting this to work as well. I'm using the MeleeMastersMegaMovesetMixV1.00 Brawlex pack on a 16gb microSD with SD adapter. None of the hacks load except the splash screen that says do a "barrel roll!" I'm using the gct file included in that pack but it had Project M launcher included in the pack so I figured it would support SDHC since Project M already includes this code. What do I need to do? Sounds like it tries to load the codes but fails after that Do a barrel roll screen.
Ok . I had used this sd formatter program before I saw this and formatted . So far no freezing but if so I'll just format in windows with fat32 as you suggested . Thank you !
EDIT: False Alarm . The game froze on the Final Destination stage . what's up ? I have the file patch code and I thought that was the problem but the game loaded fine .
Before you start getting rid of stuff I would back up your SD card and reformat it, then add the stuff back on, that often helps a lot.
Lol . I've been doing that like a million times when I was still new at this because it kept freezing and I didn't know that my common5_en.pac files was corrupt . But ok . I'll try it out . I still think its too many hacks though because I loaded it in GeckoOS last night and it was fine .
I have the Dark Flaming Blue CSS [Normal] with Shadow over Donkey Kong (with all icons), Knuckles over Pikachu (all icons except those in the Char_Bust_Tex_lz77 folder) I have the Wisp over Mr. G&W hack (all the icons), Silver over Marth (all icons for that as well), and Avatar Ness psa . I also have the character names (except Ness) . Not to mention I have the sound files for Shadow and Knuckles . My game has frozen before when I was playing with 4 characters all selected random and random stage selection . After 3 rounds it froze when I was starting the 4th . A couple of other times it has frozen on the CSS before I could even finish selecting characters . And the most of the freezing has been done in-match . (Most of it was when Silver was in the match on CPU) . So do I have too many hacks in the game ? I think taking Silver and the CSS out will make things better but I don't have normal character icons and names for all of the above characters except Shadow, Ness (which was never changed), and I have the name for Silver . I would request the ones I dont have in the right section but I have a feeling they are on here somewhere but I can''t find them . Can someone link me to these please ?

Oh ok . Oh and I forgot to ask . What does it mean when Shadow flashes blue ? I know I read it somewhere but I forgot . He flashes blue after taking enough damage and then can do some kind of attack .
my Shadow over DK. is the best Sonic char. port (yet) unlike Amy/rouge/tails(he dont got finger bones )
can´t port Sonic over DK. since N-B will never work over DK. and Spring will crash the wii same with FS
but Shadow over DK. is possible since he dont got Sonic´s N-B or using Spring or go Super sonic/Shadow
and for Tails over Wolf, and Knuckles over Meta Knight tails is over Yoshi or Marth since back then was there only tails over Yoshi or Marth and Knuckles is over pikachu
Haha . I bet it is ! Oh I forgot about Amy ! I'll go download it but I don't want it over Ness because I have the Avatar psa over him so I'll just put it over King Dedede .
Well I figured out the reason why my game kept freezing . The common5.pac files and the sc_selcharacter.pac files that come with some of the hacks in the vault are somehow corrupt . I managed to get an untouched copy and presto . ! game fixed .
For those interested, I left Sonic alone, Shadow over DK, Knuckles over Pikachu, and Silver over Luigi (Tails just seemed so unfinished and with all the glitches, I just took him out). Thanks everyone . :-)
