Ok, this is what I could gather:
this is my texture with little colored dots and squiggles so i could see where it translates on the model.  as you can see i have circle color codes to see where it translates.

the only problem is that you're not having this problem right?  Tongue
(sorry about not resizing the pictures)

No, I don't think there's anyway to compress that.  How far over are you (make sure you right-click it and go to properties and read the size from there)?
Also, did you change the texture format?  (Ex.  CI8, CMPR)

if the size is over 4.82, it won't work...according to the people over at SmashBoards Cheesy

Brawl Box can do pretty much anything (if not, everything) texture related, so just give that a try.

I don't know what you're talking about with the C drive and SSBarc...never heard of that program, but the item files are in the "ItmCommonBrres" in the common3.pac file.  If you're using riivolution, I'm pretty sure it supposed to be commen3_en.pac but if you're using GeckoOS, then it has to be common3.pac.  Either way it goes into the /system folder.  And I'm sure if you can edit final smashes, then you should know to go to "TextureData" and export...blah blah.  It should work like a charm

go to the "module" folder and all the "st_*" files are the ones you're looking for.
but in reality, you really only need st_final...

10  Help & Tutorials / Help / Wacka Alpaca's 2-D Stage Template Problem on: June 12, 2010, 09:52:48 AM
I made my own stage with the 2-D Stage template a while ago and it worked great.  Then, I updated Brawl+ via the updatifier and then when I chose the stage, the background (I believe it'd be AsfSoldier.0 in the template) started flashing random colors, which looked like the 256 colors as in gif images, and occasionally if you'd jump near the edge of the screen it would flash a random in-game texture such as the wiimote buttons or even textures of the character that jumped.  The strange thing is that I didn't do anything other than update Brawl+, and even since then I switched to Riivolution and I don't even use Brawl+ anymore.  I made a new stage and tried that...but no avail.  I tried all different formats but they none of them worked.
Any idea what's going on?
Thank you!!

If you don't have 3DSMax, and don't feeling buying it....or *cough* torrenting it *cough*, you can also use Blender which is free.

13  Help & Tutorials / Help / Advanced Texture Problem on: June 06, 2010, 08:23:02 PM
Ok, I'm trying to make a top-hat for Ganondorf, so I decided to replace Ganon's "headpiece" (polygon11) with Luigi's hat, and then afterward vertex-edit the hat to make it look like a top-hat.  After a series of hexing problems, I finally got the verticies of Luigi's hat to replace Ganon's headpiece.  So now it looks like this:

So I figured I could just edit Ganon's texture files and fill in some of the transparent places to make the hat a solid color and actually look like a hat.  I tried that but was left with a still incomplete hat:

So now, I figured if I get rid of his cape and replace that texture with Luigi's texture with that hat in it, maybe if I direct the model to get the texture for the headpiece from that cape position, it would take what it needs for the hat and I could just edit that.  I knew it wasn't going to be that easy.
Any advice or is this just not even possible (at least the way I'm doing it)?
