1  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: Problems with PSA hacks on: September 18, 2010, 11:18:56 AM
Hi
I have a problem with two packs, Ultimate Brawl (the most downloaded hack in the Brawl Vault) and with Brawl - (minus)
the problem is that the characters haven't got sounds. I mean, when you use Mario and you throw fire balls, you can't listen, but if you throw an object o hit the Smash Ball, you can listen that

I use a PAL version of SSBB with Riivolution.
If you need a copy of my SD card to help me, ask me for a download link, and I'll upload it

Thanks

Maybe it is because your using the NTSC version of the hacks... In fact, the localisation of the sounds aren't the same for PAL an NTSC, so it make that the characters have not sound if your using the wrong fighter.pac file.
Then, what must I do?

I had the same prob at one time...
but I use gecko...

I had to put the brsar in the sound folder on my SD to fix it...
It hasn't worked...

yea...
IDK how Riivolution works...
but that was the only idea I had...
I think it works like the .gct file in Gecko, so it should work. Maybe it's a problem of Brawl Minus or the Ultimate pack...

Yes, get Brawl Box and common5_en (both are in the resources section of the vault) use Brawl Box to open the common5_en, inflate (I think) char_bust-tex, then lz77, then browse around till you find the character's preview pic that you want to change. Right click and extract it, then open that picture in something like Gimp, or Photoshop and replace it with a picture of the texture (from a screenshot or something. Index the image and save it, then back in Brawl Box, right click the portrait you want to replace and click replace, then select the one you made. When you're done, save the file as just common5.pac (no _en) and put it in your SD card in RSBE/pf/system.
I've understood everything but indexing images. How I do that?

Well, it depends.
You'll probably need to hack your Wii. I mean, install the Homebrew Channel.
But we need to know if you have a NTSC or a PAL Wii.

But it works if you start being ZSS.
And what must I do?

I downloaded a custom texture for Zero Suit Samus.
Then, I modified it with BrawlBox and GIMP.
If you select ZSS before the brawl (by pressing the button minus), it works perfectly.
BUT, if you select Samus (normal) and then you make the final smash, it hungs.
Have you got an idea of what causes that?

I know that (now I'm using that) but I don't want to load the HBC, then the Gecko OS, and then the game.
I also read that with Gecko OS you can't use custom songs in PAL versions.
Thanks, but I want to use Riivolution

Well, I've just found on the Internet Riivolution and I was looking for some textures, but I don't know how to use them...
I need some help.
I have:
-Wii 4.2E (Yes, it's PAL)
-A original SSBB (PAL too)
-Homebrew Channel, USB Loader GX and Neogamma. Of course, I have the last cIOS.

Then, how I use the custom textures?
And I don't want a link to somewhere, because I've been reading and reading post and I haven't found anything.
