1  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Stages / Re: Mewtwo2000's [Now you can get a Kyogre under the sea xD] (08 sept 2010)] on: September 12, 2010, 01:57:42 AM
Hey, I downloaded Kongo Jungle, and it's gotta be my new favorite map. It just has such a nice, simple layout. It's exactly the kind of stage I love!

However, if you and KTH were striving to make a recreation of Smash 64's Kongo Jungle (within reason), why can you grab these ledges?

I don't remember how it worked in the 64 version, but in the Melee version of this stage, you can't grab those ledges. I dunno, kinda threw me off when I first tried it out lol. I would have asked KTH about this, but he's French and I don't know how much English he knows Sad.

Anyways, I'm assuming there's a perfectly good explanation for it anyways. Modding hasn't advanced far enough to allow the ledges to be un-grabbable? You (or KTH) wanted to add a personal flair/twist to a classic stage? Making the ledges the way they are removed other gamebreaking bugs? All of those are perfectly acceptable and understandable reasons for changing it up a tad. It's not like I personally mind the change anyways

However, on the off chance that you guys didn't know about this, I figured I'd fill you in so you could take it out (if you wanted to) on the next release. Because honestly, it's not a big deal, but if you were trying to make an exact replica of Kongo Jungle (minus the Barrel which would be pretty hard to do lol), and Kongo Jungle 64 is like the Melee stage, then this is something that would need looking into.

*And I know you were only helping KTH with some bugs and it's not really your stage. Or maybe it is more your stage than I'm thinking, I dunno lol. Still love it!

I'll send it to KTH when mediafire works for me again O.o

Jeez, has Mediafire been down all day for anyone else? I've wanted to download stages today, but I guess I don't get to.

What are you talking about? I didn't try mislead anyone about anything. All I did was rename the bone for his hair and mouth, which shouldn't have made any kind of wonky effect that affected gameplay. I'm sorry if you don't like it, I'll try to ask some people how I can fix those problems but it isn't anything that I intentionally did or even noticed. I'll try experimenting to see if changing some of the mouth bones back to their original names fixes the graphic problem.

Oh god no I wasn't blaming you!!

What I meant was that I can't use the texture because the wonky effects (which were completely unintentional on your behalf) mislead my opponents into thinking the range of the move is shorter than it really is. I wasn't trying to say that you were misleading anyone lol. I love the texture, and if you can fix the minor issue with at least the Down B effect, I'll be the first one to download it again!

Well, that's a shame. I don't have a problem with any of the effect screw-ups except the Down B one, which just seems a tad unfair. Personally, I know the spacing of the move already, but the effects also serve as a warning to the other players. I don't think it's fair to mislead them with a wonky effect, some I'm going to have to go back to using the crappy Funky Kong texture instead )=

It looks great though  :'(

Hey, I really like your Pimple skin on DK! However, I'm having some minor issues, and I was wondering if you knew about them/if others were having the same trouble.

When the game starts, The DK barrel that Donkey Kong (Pimple) pops out of is distorted and tilted. This doesn't bother me too much, but what happens during the match is what causes the issues. During fights, a lot of the effects that appear around DK become distorted as well in a similar fashion.

For example, the wind effect around DK's Nair changes from going around with his arms to circling around DK's body. Also, the movement lines when he does his Giant's Punch in the air sometimes appear completely below his arm. I think the most noticeable tilted effect is DK's Down B, which is tilted diagonally from the ground. Overall, the hack is still completely playable, but these messed up effects are a blemish on an otherwise perfect texture.

Anyways, I have two theories as to why this occurring. The first theory is that its screwing up because I'm using Brawl -. I don't know why this would screw up those effects, but I guess it might be. My other theory is that I'm misusing the Thumbs.db file included in the download. Honestly, I've never had someone give me a .db file before (I'm new to modding Brawl). Is there somewhere specific I was supposed to put that file? I just placed it with the FitDonkey00.pcs file ( \pf\fighter\donkey ). If putting the Thumbs.db in a different spot will fix this issue, it will make my day!

So yeah, I'm pretty sure this issue is only happening with me, which is a shame because I really like the texture. However, if this is a universal problem, I would love it if you could release a v2 fixing the issue. This is without a doubt the best DK texture yet, and seeing that DK is my main, I really want to use it! However, as of now, with the Down B effect screwing up and making it hard to space, I'm probably going to have to remove it )= .
6  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Stages / Re: Mewtwo2000's [Get the Black Alive Rayquaza Stage while it's up!] (03 sept 2010)] on: September 05, 2010, 09:35:41 PM
Hey, I'm the guy that made a thread asking for help getting Fourside working!

Well, I never actually did get it to work  :'( . Apparently, the teleporting glitch I was referring to was actually a common problem (if the last post in the thread was any indication). Oh well. In the end, I ended up using a completely different stage to replace my New Pork/Training Room... the one that's just like the stage from the Smash 64 intro. It's really cool, but that's a different story I guess.

Anyways, I ended up downloading your Mario Beta v3 stage and used it on the scrolling Super Mario stage. I downloaded a .rel file from here: http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=8d2d9e36d3a57ec890a82c7bb0fad7ad7854b896290d6ca8f1940a51b339e393. Well, anyways, it wasn't working quite how I expected it would. The warp pipes, which you claimed actually teleported you, were fairly glitchy for me! Going inside the pipe did nothing but send me straight into the ground, and I would actually randomly pop straight inside them if I flew anywhere near. Since it's still in a beta, I guess that means I should tell you when these types of problems occur?

But yeah, my -minor- problems don't mean I'm disappointed with your work or anything. I actually love what you've done! You're without a doubt my favorite stage creator on this site because you're at least trying to make something cool and interesting, and you've actually done a lot of great work. I really enjoy your Saffron City stage for Skyworld! Besides missing the pokemon, it's got to be a perfect recreation. The only unfortunate part about the stage is that Brawl's physics force you to pop off ledges when you grab them while the moving platforms are fully descended, but I don't think that can be fixed without changing the stage...

Oh wow! I just realized you made Hyrule Castle 64 too! I should have known. Damn, you've pretty much made all of my favorite stages! Anyways, great job dude, and I can't wait to see what you come out with next.

You could always use an .rel to port the stage and it wouldn't have a problem. I have 2 Mediafire folders that are for edited modules.
Final Destination
WWR
Read the descriptions before use.
Also, this goes in the help section.

Incredibly helpful! Thank you very much, and I'll be sure to use the correct forum next time.

I did read the description  Oh shi~

It works in WiFi room, but for some reason it has the teleporting problem* from Onett. Near the bottom of the description it explains that the problems can be eliminated (or at least minimized) if you use an FD based .rel, but I am unsure of what that is exactly or how to precisely use it.

And apparently this is in the wrong forum. Which forum should I move this too?

*I am unsure of what the specific teleporting problem with Onett is, but, at the very least, a teleporting problem does exist in the WiFi version.
9  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Character Vertexes and Textures / Can Anyone Help me get Fourside Working? on: September 03, 2010, 07:11:16 PM
I recently downloaded the quite popular Fourside texture hack for New Pork City ( http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=5653 ), but I've run into a few problems.

For starters, I also have Brawl- installed, and for those of you who don't know, this automatically changes my New Pork City into the Wifi Training Room. I didn't think this would be an issue as the creator claims the stage works for the Wifi Training Room, and it does, but what he failed to mention was that it shares the same(?) teleporting issues that Onett apparently has. When you're on the saucer, and it disappears, you teleport to the middle of the saucer before falling. It's not a huge issue, but if it can be fixed, I'd love to do so.

Apparently these issues can be fixed when properly using a Final Destination based .rel file, but being fairly new at modding, I have no idea how I'm supposed to acquire this. Don't get me wrong, I know where .rel files go and have used them before, but only when they were packaged with the stages themselves. I don't really know where I'm supposed to get one to make this stage work properly on the Wifi Training Room.

So can any of you experts help me out? Where do I get the file, and what should I name it when I put it in my module folder? I'm at a here, but I really want to make my Fourside work, so any help would be really appreciated!
