Sure, but I'll be using some Screenshooter links to make things simpler.
If you open up your FighterConfig in the BrawlEXConfiguration tool you can find the costumes on the right hand side as a section of checkboxes, just check in the numbers of whichever costumes you're using.

For CssSlotConfig you'll need to open the file up in a hex editor and change up the last section of data from 0x20 and onward. Every 4 bits represents one costume, the first 2 represent either the colour of the costume or the file, and the second two represent vice-versa (Sorry, I forget which order is which). The colour identifier seems to be primarily used for team battle, to tell the game which costume is "Red", "Green" or "blue" respectively in that mode. Then the other number is for the file to load (fitCharacter00.pcs, fitCharacter01.pcs etc). I typically just use the same colour value as I do for the file value just to keep things simple. Once you've put in all the costume you want, you end the file with a "0C". Here's a screenshot to show you what I mean: http://screenshooter.net/99992442/xwumfsd

In that example I have the original Mario on the roster expanded to 10 costumes in total, but if you wanted say only five you'd simply add 0C after the last 05 in that section and fill in the rest of the file with 00's.

Hey thanks a lot Cheesy It appears that the first two bits are the color and the second two are the actual filename. I found this out because it was a Zelda CSSRoster.dat I was editing.

I have another unrelated question though. For some reason, my clones only load the BPs for the first costume in game... why is this?


EDIT: I have another question too. I'm trying to make a BrawlEx SFX for Rosalina over Meta Ridley but I don't know how to add KO SFX. Where is the KO SFX in the PSA file???

The muted final smashes are a brawlEx issue, I don't know if there's any feasible work around.

As for the costume limit you need to set it in both your fighterconfig and your cssSlotConfig for it to work properly. If you only set it in cssSlot it'll seem fine on the css but your random will cause crashes.

Can you explain to me where exactly in the fighter config and cssslot config the # of costumes is?

Nvm, I think I got it. Have you replaced the SFX in the .sawnd with [badam] SUPER SAWNDS [/badam]?

Yes Lol I already replaced Meta Ridley sounds with Rosalina sounds.

One of the first paragraphs is written in kind of a confusing way...

"You'll need to first decide on which boss you are going to use. Then just start replacing that boss's sound effects with the ones from the hacked character's sfx. Simply open a smash bros brsar in super sawndz and insert the sawnd file for the character's sfx that you are going to use. Then open that same brsar file in BrawlBox 0.71 and export all the wave files from the sounds you replaced for that character. Then close BrawlBox. Go back to Super Sawndz and replace all of the boss character's sounds with the wave files you exported. MAKE SURE you pay CLOSE attention to the length of your sound file and the length of the previous boss wave file. If you have a wave file that is say, 2:36, do NOT put it over a boss wave that is 1:34! The boss wave file has to be either the same amount of time or longer than the one your are going to replace it with. If you put a long clip on a short boss clip it will exceed the file size."

What does this mean?? I have to replace all sounds of the boss with character sounds and then ??? I don't have a sawnd file for the character's sfx im going to use because I haven't made it.  and it says to export all the wavs and then replace them again for no reason...? I'm kind of lost here, can someone help me with what im supposed to be doing..??



Okay so I kind of figured it out and in PSA I replaced all of the voice SFX I could, but there are a ton of voice sfxs missing for the clone in-game. The clone is Rosalina over peach and I have her voice over Meta Ridley and I've got some of the voices working in-game but a lot of them are missing from the PSA ?? What do I do? The PSA appears not to have her hurt sounds or ko sounds or a lot of her attack sounds...

Have you tried the RSBE01 code that removes the results screen?

Didn't even know that was a thing....

And I've already pretty much got this fixed. I had to remove the franchise icon and the clones work now.... Im not marking this as solved yet because I still want the custom Franchise icon

How do you reduce the number of costumes a clone has without having it crash when you cycle through CSPs on the CSS? >_< The character im trying to clone has 10 costumes but I only want the clone to have 4.

Also I have a peach clone and her final smash doesn't play any music. How can i fix this and is there a way to make it so her final smash plays a different song? Like, say the mario franchise victory theme?

I am so glad that You posted here, as it helps with my hypothesis. I Am also having the same freezing problem as you are, and i think it's helping me see why i cant get Roy to work properly. It seems that one of marth's files(cosmetic,slot,fighter,cssslot,and rel) could have a bug that makes the game freeze after leaving the match. I hypothesize this because i have added 4 different marth clones. These are as follows: Thany Roy, PM Roy, Sephiroth, And even regular Marth to test. They ALL froze after a little action and Some of them froze after getting the final smash, like GamerkidTY Posted earlier, but i was able to fix that by either changing the fit final with other ones that are compatible, or just simpily turning the fit final off in the fighter.dat file.(Worked for sephiroth and was still able to do his final smash with no freezing.) Im not sure what the bug is, but somethings wrong with marth's files. I thought i had found a way to bypass it, but I was quickly proven wrong. And also, Zelda clones do the freezing glitch too?!  

D-Do they?? it would be stupid if the only clones i tried were the broken ones!!!

Is there anything wrong with my files though?? (Besides the thing in Lucina's results portraits file because i already fixed the numbers)

I'm going to replace Zelda's files with a peach clone. I'll report back to you if it works or not!

EDIT: I replaced the Zelda clone with a Peach clone... and it works!!! And the exciting thing is that Lucina no longer freezes on the results screen either. I truly believe this is because I removed the Franchise icon because the peach clone, rosalina, only has to use the regular mario icon Cheesy so if you have any franchise icons try editing all of your files to not use them and delete them from all of your pacs!!! maybe that will work.

I've been trying to get this thing working for forever now. I've gotten the farthest I've ever gotten yet because before, it usually wouldn't even load the CSS. But now...

I've added two clones into the game, Lucina (over Marth) and Yuna (over zelda). They both work, their CSP's and such all show up in-game so I've got that part down. They also load up their costumes but then they crash when the match ends. so there's something wrong with the way i've set up results but i don't know what. I've been trying to find out what's wrong but i can't. It's really getting to be a headache for me.

I'll upload the files for them and perhaps someone could take a look at it and see what I did wrong?

Yuna takes up slot 41 and has cosmetic slot 110, while Lucina takes up slot 42 and has cosmetic slot 111. Lucina uses the default fire emblem icon and Yuna uses a custom FFX Franchise icon, which takes up the franchise icon slot 21..

Also is there an easy way to disable Yuna's down-b?? i don't want her to transform. It freezes the game anyway.

I would post this in the clone engine thread but i don't want to bump it. seems like a lose-lose kind of situation.

I've been trying to get this thing working for forever now. I've gotten the farthest I've ever gotten yet because before, it usually wouldn't even load the CSS. But now...

This is a recolor/reskin project with the goal of making many recolors of stages, characters, and maybe even more. These reskins will consist of being mostly red and teal/cyan. Each character will come with a CSP, BP, and stock icon at least.

Alright so I'll try to explain my problem in the best way possible. I'm pretty familiar with SSBB Hacking but something's been happening that's really annoying me lately.
I'm using Project M 3.5.
I can use sawnd files downloaded from the vault or sawnd files that I created in the past. The thing is, when I try to make a new one, it causes the game to crash. I don't know why. I had a SFX hack that I made but it was too quiet in game so yesterday I took all of the WAVs and made them louder and underwent the tedious task of re-inserting them into the brsar. However, when I make the sawnd file for it and place it in the appropriate folder, it causes the game to crash.

Another thing: I made an announcer call WAV but when I insert this into the brsar and make a 223.sawnd, it also crashes the game. And when I insert the 223.sawnd that I made back into the brsar, the WAV that I made isn't even there. It's just the regular "ZELDA!" Character call instead of "YUNA!"...

It crashes on the strap menu with a really loud buzzing noise. Really annoying. Pleaaase help me.
