Yet another "Add / edit parts on an otherwise unchanged Brawl model" idea I'm working on.
I just need to make the sunglasses darker (and less purple) and make (or find) a boombox stereo model to include with it.

Cool, it doesn't desynch wifi, something that doesn't really effect me since I use an emulator. Im srs here Still Super Sonic probably looks better than before right? Cheesy

Not so much "better than before." Think of it as "looks exactly like the final smash model."

I understand that not everyone cares about wi-fi compatibility, but I make sure all of my hacks work properly on wi-fi.

Besides, those VIS0 edits allow me to do stuff like this without having to move bones around (and it has the benefit of being one-slot!):

In this example, the non-super quills are hidden most of the time. But when he curls into a ball, the non-super quills are used instead of the super quills.

its easy your doing super sonic with FS eyes Tongue but i wonder unless you make a custom model changer i dont think you can make sonic normal quils disapear
Well, he DOES have FS eyes (and metal materials). But that's not the main difference.

Custom PSA so you can have different Super Sonics? Is it like SMBZ Mario and Luigi where you do a taunt or something and you turn into Super SOnic and have different moves?
Nope. He uses Sonic's original Brawl moveset, and his original animations (I play on random wi-fi a lot, so I prefer using the default movesets.)

The Super Sonic quills make quite a few of Sonic's original animations look awkward (forward air, up throw, anything where he curls up without the sphere object, etc.)
The quills are changed using one-slot VIS0 animation edits. Any other Sonic model will look no different than they would using Sonic's original animation pac.

Also, he looks blue in Brawlbox because I'm using the textures, materials, and shaders from the Final Smash model. (As in, instead of getting yellow fur by recoloring the textures, the fur color is controlled solely by the materials and shaders. I even applied the effect to the sphere.)

To sum all of that text up: Final Smash materials + One-slot VIS0 mod that doesn't desynch wi-fi.

Crap, I don't know how to do that. I suck at anything besides rigging and T-posing.  Anything pertaining to UV mapping or re-texturing is something I have no skills in. I will undoubtedly need outside help. Not to mention I'll have to re-rig the bloody model.  Crap, crap, crap.

What about UV mapping or remapping? I can't seem to find a good tutorial for that.

I've done some UV-map editing quite a few times (likewise for material re-assignment and texture fixing.)

UV-mapping itself uses the Unwrap UVW modifier. Editing them UV-map works kinda like vertex hacking (except you're only doing it on a 2D plane, and you're only changing which part of the texture is applied to each vertex instead of actually changing the position of the actual vertices.)

If you'd like me to explain in more detail, you can send me a PM.

P.S. - To keep this thread on-topic, here are a few WIP hacks of mine:
Brawlbox preview. I plan on fixing the rig, UV-maps, and textures for those gloves.

Oh look, yet another Super Sonic over Sonic hack. It works well in-game, but I still have a few things to fix (like the quill rigging.)

Here's what it looks like in Brawlbox:

Whaa? Normal Sonic textures, and two sets of quills? There might be a few of you who can figure out what I'm doing with this. Cheesy

Sorry about that. I forgot that I set it to block all messages since about a year ago... Mario Facepalm
Still, I hope that those models will help you out.

Btw, if anybody gets this message when opening a v10 or v11 MDL0 with v0.67b:
"Unsupported Fur Data is used!"
I need that MDL0 immediately. Im srs here

Quite a few models from Sonic Colors have that message show up.
I'd assume you'd want me to send you one of them, right?
