I posted a question about this yesterday, how I recolored a Pikachu but when it was able to use a FS, the area around its eyes wasn't consistent with the rest of its body. I was given a link with tutorials (http://forums.kc-mm.com/index.php?topic=7.0) on how to remedy this problem, and I've followed the steps exactly (numerous times over, I might add) but still haven't produced any results. I've tried using both Photoshop and GIMP, as indicated by the tutorials, but still nothing.

I don't know if this matters, but I use Photoshop 6, and don't have Photoshop CS4. I know that this problem can be resolved in GIMP, which is why I elected to try using that as opposed to buying/pirating CS4.

tl;dr, I was wondering if someone maybe knew what I'm doing wrong? Like I said, I've followed the steps exactly but I've still messed up somehow. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Pikachu's Final Smash eye textures use the RGB5A3 texture format, which is known for losing some colors.  Because of that, you want to try to match the appearance of the Final Smash eyes with that of the normal eyes; try importing the normal eyes in RGB5A3 format, extracting them again, and then importing them again as CMPR textures.

    I know what happens...

the area around the eyes and cheeks is either too light, or too dark...
I had this problem when I was working on Dark Pikachu V1...
(you can still see it if you look in the images)

the problem is because the material for the FSeye's is set to 'darken'

thus you have to set the body color to match the material passthrough

I had to make D-Pika V2 lighter before using him to fix V1.
(the lighter factor was easier to figure out) :/
△ meaning I had to increase the brightness of the images (textures) by 1 until it looked right...
    a very tedious/annoying process...
    but well worth the effort.

    EDIT:
I just looked & saw it was RESOLVED...
so I guess my words were useless here Sad

you have been through a lot of hassle. I've watched every topic you posted on this, and most of them seemed to disintegrate gradually.
But the coolest part was that you didn't stop working on it despite that.
