I hope this is the right place to ask this. Anyway, here's my problem. Every time I try to open a a folder in the tool, it gives me some "unhandled exception" error or something, and I can't do anything. Is there a way to fix this?

I can't really help with the clone tool since I don't use it. I just wanted to say that the clone tool isn't compatible with the latest version of Brawlex. Manually configuring the files isn't hard once you figure it out.

Thanks for the advice. Cheesy I got the clone engine working now. However, I added some more codes today, and when I load up Gecko Os, right after it reads "SD Codes found. Applying" it gives me an "Exception! (DSI) Occurred" or something. I tried booting it up a few times, and I even remade the GCT code over again to see if that was the problem. I've heard of this happening before, but I have no idea how to fix it. >_>

If the DSI Exception occured after adding codes then it would be best to isolate which code is causing the problem. Use your last functional version of the .gct. Then add each new code one at a time, testing gameplay after each addition.

OK, I got it to work. Unfortunately, there is another problem (and hopefully the last.) Right now I have 50 characters, and when I try to add another clone, it doesn't appear in the game. It doesn't add another row either, and for some reason, the random slot is completely gone. :/
Also, one of my Peach-clones soft freezes the game, but I might know how to fix that on my own.

There's a few things that can cause that CSS issue. It sounds like you know how to add a clone character to the CSS so can you revert the changes you made before the problem started and then retry adding them? Most likely your configuration files got messed up.

And Peach requires entry files for each costume in Peach's Fighter folder (ex. FitPeach09.pac will require FitPeachEntry09.pac). Did you include the entry files? If not, simply rename FitPeachEntry00.pac from the Brawl Disc to Fit*Entry##.pac

I'm a total noob with BrawlEx. I just got into it like 2 days ago, and I've been hacking for nearly 3 years. Azn; So I dunno what I goofed up on. For some reason, the game acts like I don't have the roster expansion code at all, because it just won't go over 50. I've tried this countless times now. No matter what I do, I get the same result. Now this is a noob question, but am I supposed to have a CSSRoster.dat file? Because I don't have one at the moment. I've added 19 characters to the game, and a sixth row just won't appear. It's starting to drive me insane. XD In total, there are six slots missing, 5 being characters and one being the random slot. Sorry for the lengthy post, but I'm pretty much at a . :/

EDIT: So I did some more digging around, and what I heard is that Brawl can't have less than 3 rows of characters, or more than 5. If you can't get more than 5 rows, then how do you get more than 50 characters? That's the problem I'm running into.

You'll definitely need CSSRoster.dat as that defines the CSS icon order (and allows more than 50 movesets). Check the first post in the Brawlex thread for details on how to set up a custom character. It's also helpful to have a functional Brawlex pack to look at for reference.

Thanks so much for the help! Azn Finally got it to work. The only problem is that my Peach-clones soft freeze when entering a match. I gave them all Entry Files, but it still happens. Also, they all load up just fine in practice mode, but they crash in versus mode. I even tried the No Entry Code, and it still crashes.

EDIT: Now it's not soft-freezing anymore, it's now a hard crash. :/ I've put their entry codes in countless times. I have about 9 peach clones, so it's a real problem that they freeze the game now. :/

EDIT 2: I made it to a match with one of my Peach clones, but it still crashed. She's a PSA for Peach, so it's got something to with that. Do I need Dark, Fake, and Spy files for Peach-clones? Also, on my regular un-cloned Peach, there's a PSA on her slot, so does that effect the Peach clones?

You don't need Dark, Fake, or Spy files unless you manually called those files in CSSSlotConfig (not the default setting). Spy is required for clear Special Brawl though.

A PSA over the original character shouldn't bother clones unless the .rel was modified.

There are many things that can cause that freeze. I'd be willing to look at your files if you compress your SD contents and upload them to a file sharing site. Please include the entire SD contents to make the problem easy to identify.
