Model Swapping doesn't work whenever I try it

Okay, for example, I'm swapping Toon Link's hookshot chain with an external model. I renamed all the bones to fit the original models', making sure it had all of the necessary ones - the new model also fits the bone limit to swap.


What's the issue? I think I followed all the restrictions, but I guess I didn't. It'd be cool if someone could list them for me. I've seldomly gotten a swap working myself.

I think I can help you but I need to know what happens in game. Does the model not appear? Does the game freeze?

The game freezes. My Wii screams like a beast when I try using it.

What were you trying to replace TLinks hookshot with?

IIRC you can not replace that model without freezing. I believe it has to do with the model being aesthetic.

Maybe it has to do with the model's offset on TLink? The game is trying to find the Hookshot, doesn't find, it and it hits the panic button?

Just my thoughts, I'm not really sure as I have yet to successfully swap a model, texture and all.
