That can all change in Gen 5, Vic.
Besides, she can learn Psycho Shock in Gen V, meaning she is no longer completely barred by Special Walls.
Not really. Gen 5 added a ton of new, powerful pokemon to the mix and honestly, other than the aforementioned Psycho Shock, Gardy didn't get a whole lot. Sure, she still has Trace, but now that Porygon2 gets the Prevo-Stone, he acts as a much better tracer. As for Gardy's other abilities, she gets, what, Synchronize and Telepathy? Crap. Pure crap. I'll admit that she has a good SpA stat, but with base 80 speed, she's not sweeping anything, especially with her only STAB being the lackluster Psychic type. Face it, she was OK in 3rd gen, worse in 4th gen and now, looks to be even worse in 5th gen. Sorry. But, this is all off-topic. Let's get back to talking about Aafyre's awesome hacks!

There is a way to fix that, know what it is? Choice Scarf. Just like every other Pokemon someone uses for a Speed whore. She also has access to multiple types, including Will-O-Wisp, for one thing. You're not taking into account what other things she has gained in addition to Psycho Shock. She also gets Sing Around, with is perfect for Triple Battles with other Pokemon who have it, and helps with her nice SpA stat. She has plenty of sweeping options, and Choice Scarf makes her a potential revenge killer. Not every discussion related to how good a Pokemon is has to be from the perspective of competitive battling, you goof. I don't always look at it from that perspective, and it really opens my options up. Cause I don't treat every situation in Pokemon from that perspective. Anyway, back on topic. Gardevoir FTW!

Lot's o' stuff
Sorry to go off topic again, but I'm a competitive 1v1, Smogon standard player. That's just how I am. So, when I talk about how a pokemon is "good" or "bad," it will be from that standpoint. Sorry for the confusion. I'll try to remember that you have different views on Pokemon if the topic ever comes up again.

What ever happened to liking the pokeymanz for how cool they are? Hey, when it comes to ingame, I love playing with my favorites. Plus, some of my favorites, like Tyranitar, Garchomp and the new Genosect are also competitively viable. But, when it comes to competition, sprites and names don't matter. Only stats, typing, movepool and ability matter. At least, that's how I see it. Of course, you're free to disagree (which I'm sure you do. )

Yeah, I can see Flygon working well on Charizard. The only thing that might not work is his bubble eyes. I thought about making an Ho-oh Zard to go with my Lugia too.
As for competitive battling goes, I much prefer to use my favorites even if that means I'll lose most of my matches. For me, it's just so much more satisfying to win with my favorites or original ideas than a team that was just copied from Smogon. I used to play netbattle during the 3rd gen all the time and I had a 75% win record just using my favorites so it isn't impossible.

Ho-oh Zard would be amazing, Aafyre You should try it! As for Flygon on Charizard, i say out him over charizard as well, seeing as how they are both dragons..... If you want, i have Flygon's MDL0/Brres pack from pokepark that can be used as a base, if you figure out how to use pre-made mdl0's as a base. I partly agree with you about the favorites thing. It is more fun for me at some times, but i also suck at making good teams. My HG/SS team was: Feraligatr - Lvl. 63 Ho-oh - Lvl. 58 Typhlosion - Lvl. 65 Steelix - Lvl. 58 Lake of Rage's Red Gyrados - Lvl. 61 and someone else...... Gyarados was an All-Star, his moves were Dragon dance, Whirlpool, Waterfall, and something else, but i had him holding a dragon scale, and i would use Dragon Dance 2-3 times in the beginning of a battle, then use whirlpool to get my opponent trapped in the vortex for a few turns, lastly i used waterfall and completely destroyed everyone! BUT i just gave the ds away to my freind and i think she erased my whole team :'(

Ho-oh would be pretty tight if you could pull it off, but you never cease to suprise me with all your vertexes. so im sure you could.
