So I have had my backup sitting here for some time, and have really been wanting to start back up with some textures and maybe even get into some modding. I have ideas, but I have no idea how to get to the files I need.

 Im srs here

If anyone can hook me up with a tutorial on how to get the files from my copy and then what I need exactly for getting into viewing models and possibly editing them that would be great. I did this way before that became available lol.

Thanks a million!

    NTSC Brawl ISO Data Partition

You'll also need BrawlBox in order to modify texture parts and view models.

thank you for the link, I was just wondering how to extract the data partition myself. It would make it easier for me to extract it all at once instead of downloading it since I don't have a mediapro account.

Hello again, sorry for the double post. I got the files extracted but brawlbox is giving me an issue. The characters tend to just show up white. No textures at all. What is the reason for this?

    Many thanks!

Chances are, you're only viewing the model when the textures aren't applied.  Try viewing the model when it's paired with its texture data.

I have a good feeling that you're viewing the shadow model. Does the model end in Sdw (IDR ATM)?

Yeah it is the shadow apparently. How do I view the model with the textures? It doesn't seem to show up when I open up the pac I exported.

Open up the PAC file, and then go to the very first Model Data BRRES archive.  It'll contain the character's model.

Well I figured it out now! Thank you for all the help with my re-learning of texturing! Soon, since I kinda learned brawlbox a bit now, I may try to model edit. But for now I will stick to getting the textures done. I must say, this is much easier than when I used to work with it. :]

Anyway, figured I'd add a screenshot of my test work just to figure out what is going on and to let you get an idea of what I'm working on redoing lol.

    Many thanks again!
