I'm new to the KC-MM scene and haven't released any textures yet, and the textures I've finished have been largely for experimental purposes. I have a relatively good understanding of texture hacking and such as far as the technical aspect, but I'm a bit lacking on the artistic aspect. I don't really know how to make my textures up to the Brawl standard as far as detail, shading, etc. Can anyone give me some advice as to how I can make my textures higher quality? I don't really expect an exhaustive guide or anything, just a few helpful Photoshop tips. Thanks!

As my textures are low quality too, I second this...

The only thing I can recommend is the following.

    1. Experiment with the brushes and their settings in Photoshop for creating different textures.

    2. Learn to use Layer Styles. Metal Effects using them are a must.

    3. Learn to use the Filters. There are a variety of effects you cannot do without them.

    4. Learn to sue the Dodge, Burn, Blur, and gradient tools well. They will serve you well with shading and different kinds of effects.

That's all I really have for you.
