I was wondering if there was a way to get models from other consoles. Maybe get characters from games for the Xbox 360 or PS3. I understand they won't have *.MDL0 files but is there maybe a way to convert those models over to *.MDL0 format? Any input would be appreciated, thanks!

the only time I searched was when I was looking for a converter for Whiplash (PS2)
I had no luck... -_- (I found one, but couldn't get it to work)
try google with something or whatever...
look for anything of interest (program names, or talk about it)
you'll spend hours doing this though... :/
I hope someone has a better way @Segtendo: try something not related to Wii

What are you even talking about? exactly... what do you mean we never thought of this before... I mean, I was the one who mentioned the PS2 model converter... it may not be avaliable, but the idea is there I'm sure there were others too I still wanna do that btw (import Spanx and Redmond from Whiplash (PS2) into brawl) ^^^that's another reason for my in-dev mdl0 scripts for blender I may get around to the other console formats... but right now, nobody seems to care about them besides Nintendo H8rs (that would explain the reason we don't have none)

Well, can someone explain how people have gotten Master Chief, that Gears of War guy, Kingdom Hearts characters, etc. into brawl? Surely all of those weren't just vertexed were they?

This thread is full of fail If brawl was a pc game then this shouldnt be a problem. This well never happen since every console has there own way of doing gaming. This is like trying to put a cube in a circle hole. If it makes ya feel better i think there was another model file that MAY work with smash/any games with mld0. To bad i forgot the file type |D

Yes. You can OBJ import static things from any console but they lose their bones and can't move. Although the helmet was a done a bit different I think but it doesn't change that if you want a model from another console or any non-mdl0 game, then you can OBJ import at the cost of it never moving. If you want a moving character, start vertexing.

If brawl was a pc game then this shouldnt be a problem. already working on it look into the blender game engine (BGE) if you want to try, or learn more
