Help getting some textures to work.

First off, I want to apologize for my absolute n00bishness. We've all been there.

Okay, so from the tutorials I've gone by, everything seems to be in order. But, at this point, I have a feeling that I'm either putting these files in the wrong folders, or if the folders are wrong or just case-sensitive.

Anyway, as for facts, my Wii is v4.2u. I'm using the 3.5.1 patch code (By PhantomWings, yes?). I'm running the game and the code through Neogamma and Gecko, but no results. Is there some IOS that needs to be installed/uninstalled on my Wii for it to work properly?

How would I go about placing the files? And must I edit anything?

I understand that there are also files in which mess with the sound, how would I place those?

Textures go in this file path  private/wii/app/RSBE/pf/fighter/(char name)/fit(char name)##.pac/pcs
for the name of the folder and texture file, go look in the noob guide for the name.  ## is the color you are replacing.  A list of the colors are in the noob guide too.
Music goes in private/wii/app/RSBE/pf/sound/strm/song.brstm
Im not sure if the song names are in the noob guide but they aren't hard to find...  if you go to the brawl vault resources you can find the brstm maker and that will let you choose which song you replace.
And don't worry lol  We don't mind helping out people who need help, so long as your not abusing the help section.

I just tried the Link one, nothing worked at all. I have a few others that aren't showing up, such as a Knuckles-over-Pikachu one and a Shadow-over-DK one. I've come to understand that sound effects don't work, which is what I really meant by sound files (my bad, sorry lol). Are you sure it's not because my Wii is 4.2u? Should I try Riivolution?

I know it's not your wii being 4.2u.  Mine is as well.  Sound effects only work with riivolution so you'll have to switch to that for them.  Hmm...  tell me your file path for link and what the file is called.

Hmm...  very weird...  do you have other textures that are working?

Actually, none of them are working . I can't think of anything that would conflict with any of this stuff. And I swear my game is NTSC, else it wouldn't even work in my console. Should I delete my other .gct files? Could it be my SD card? It's an 8GB SDHC by Sandisk.

There's your problem.  Brawl only supports 2g or below

That's NOT the problem. Use ShadowSnakes riivolution, it can handle any size SD card.

That's NOT the problem. Use ShadowSnakes riivolution, it can handle any size SD card.

Riivolution doesn't let you save to your SD while using it though.  That's why I don't use it
