Yeah you need codes to operate his CSS. Also you might want to add the Disable Custom Stages code too because a lot of people had their game freeze at the SSS after they used that CSS and the codes for it including me.

Ok so Im doin 1 at a time now and theres somethin rong wit Marth and Ike. Right when I go on their icon it goes BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP.  Any idea y?

Well I don't have to give the code to you now as the problem was a corrupt texture like you said.

Use Code Manager and open the .txt file associated with your GCT to view your codes. You can also use GCTEdit, but Code Manager should really be used instead. I don't even know what the point of GCTEdit is because you're supposed to edit and view codes with Code Manager.

No, I don't think what codeset you use matters when stuff freezes. Also I use Brawl Minus too and everything is fine.

When you're on the CSS and mouse over their icons you get a freeze? It's probably a bad texture. I've had it freeze whenever I chose Captain Falcon's red costume. Remove the textures you have on Marth and Ike and see if you can select them.
