I want to move from Riivolution to Configurable USB Loader because I'm a PAL user. I got the loader working with FAT32 formatted drive, but I want to use NTFS file system. However, depending on set IOS to use, reactions are different. IOS 248 - freezes when detects the drive. IOS 224 - does not detect the drive at all (even if it is FAT32 formatted). I used the tutorial from this page to install the loader and IOS: http://gwht.wikidot.com/usb-loaderIs changing the drive used the only way to fix this error? Please help.

My Wii isn't PAL, but when I began using WiiFlow, I had to have the following custom IOSes installed...
Hermes' IOS222 Hermes' IOS223 IOS236 Waninkoko's IOS249 IOS250
By default, IOS250 is used when I load my Wii titles.

Thx for relying. Isn't WiiFlow limited to 256 lines of Ocarina codes? Anyway, the Configurable USB loader allows user to choose IOS. When I had only Waninkoko's IOS249 in 248 slot installed, it ran NTSC SSBB fine from the FAT32 formatted drive. The problems started when I wanted to move to NTFS partition so I could put hacks quickly. If the drive has NTFS file system, loader freezes whenever I insert my pendrive into the USB slot.

Why would you want to go from FAT32 to NTFS? FAT32 is superior to NTFS in every way. And you can put your hacks on it the same way as on a NTFS file system.

For me, the problem with FAT32 is the 4GB limit. Transfering the image takes a while. I want to load the whole ISO onto NTFS formatted drive, so I can replace files in it with WiiScrubber without moving it onto my hard drive.

I see. Do you have Waninkoko's latest cIOS (rev 20-21)?

I had rev 20 of that IOS. I've updated to 21, but nothing changed. After running the loader with pendrive in the slot, everything I can do is reset the Wii. Debug: OK!USB startup [55.271] --> usb_init init:0 cap:31582351 ss:512 [55.337] <-- usb_init [55.373] --> usb_mount fstype(1)=2 RAW Plist(1)=1 ss:512 P#0 0 1 7 part_find(1 1) fstype(1)=2 RAW Plist(1)=1 ss:512 P#0 0 1 7 part_find(2 1) Mount ntfs 1 0 2 USB startup [55.871] --> usb_init init:0 cap:31582351 ss:512 [55.921] <-- usb_init [55.940] --> usb_init init:0 cap:31582351 ss:512 [55.988] --> usb_init

Did you edit the config.txt in the usb-loader folder to make it work with NTFS?

I've been through quite many reconfigurations of my config.txt file. Here's the one I'm currently using. theme = stripes device = usb gui = start gui_transition = fade gui_style = flow gui_rows = 2 ntfs_write = 1 ios = 248 fix_002 = 1 debug = 1 return_to_channel = UCFX background = background.png wbackground = background.png background_base = background.png wbackground_base = background.png background_gui = background.png wbackground_gui = background.png layout = large3 color_header = 14 color_footer = 8 color_selected_fg = 0 color_selected_bg = 7 color_inactive = 8 color_help = 11 console_transparent = 1 gui_text_shadow = black gui_text2_shadow = black hide_header = 1 hide_footer = 1 cover_style = 3d gui_text_color = white gui_text2_color = white

Why would you want to go from FAT32 to NTFS? FAT32 is superior to NTFS in every way. And you can put your hacks on it the same way as on a NTFS file system.
FAT32 file systems have a 4 GB limit for files, so it's impossible to put Wii ISOs onto those devices without compressing them. Of course, if the compressed ISO still uses more than 4 GB, you would have to split the ISO so that the FAT32 device can support it; that kind of dilemma usually only happens with dual-layered ISOs.
NTFS may not be as efficient for older computers, but at least it can hold 4.37 GB and 7.92 GB .iso files, making WIIScrubber usage less troublesome.

Exactly.
So, is there a way to use NTFS formatted drive in my situation?

Well, WiiFlow is much more friendly with NTFS devices than most other USB Loaders.

Well, Wiiflow didn't work either. Exactly the same results - didn't detect my drive when used IOS224.
To make loaders work with NTFS, I needed to get a new pendrive. :/ Now I have encountered another problem. For some reason, Brawl seems to work fine when a single file (smashbros_sound.brsar) is replaced. However, when I try to replace a texture (first try - FitSonic00.pcs), Brawl runs, but the loader stops reading data from drive after a period passes (music stops, I can't turn off the console in any other way than disconnecting it from power and game freezes when I try to back to menu or go to SSS when it happens on CSS). What is the correct way to "install" costumes and stuff into an image? I heard Wii games need to have a certain file size, or else they won't work properly. How should I deal with it?

I guess being a PAL user tends to have its drawbacks.

That's why I'm struggling with loaders to run NTSC version of Brawl.
